ManchesterMusic.Co.Uk - One of the UK's first independent music websites and one that's still with you today - bigger and better - First published in 1999, the webzine provides an innovative independent focus on new music, both regional / nationally and signed / unsigned.
The MM website and all its activities are undertaken by a (happy) band of volunteers and contributors who gladly - and like heroes of the state - give their time for free. No one gets paid or takes any money and the whole operation is within a legitimate non-profit framework.
The website is unfunded and is not owned by any publishing, media or any one connected with the general entertainment industry.
We don't like to self publicise too much, but many bands and artists have been supported by the website and many national headline acts had their very first reviews on the MM pages.
People who take pictures , write words, or who do creative stuff have started here at MM and moved on to professional qualification / education courses (eg. journalism, where references and experience are pre-requisites to registration); being successfully self employed; working for newspapers and magazines; and even working on Sony Australias web site ... all using MM as a reference / portfolio..
Which makes us very happy - and quite proud to be accepted as a platform for new music and all that comes with it...
Believe the truth - MM is THE biggest Music Only review site for Manchester and the region and was of course the first, almost a decade ago. We get 5-10,000 unique visits a day - double that at peak times like ITC... it adds up to 1-2 million hits per MONTH...
Thanks to everyone who's been and still is, part of the MM experience - we love you !

A call to arms from the perilous waters of the Island. Kinfolk cower in their homes as wild squalls rage fury on us. A far cry from the glassy seas and towering swells from which we profited only a few days ago. Respite cruelly prized from our grasp, our hopes of reprieve in calmer seas lie tattered, at least for now. Scathed but not scarred, we persist through relentless gales and cloudbursts on the fringes of the ocean, passing the church in the bay where many a reveler and mourner ha
