From the legendary and classic hit single, "Que Tu Quieres"(What You Want) produced by D/R/ Period, arises once again...MANCINI. Mancini is known as one of the members of the group, formally known as, Real Lyphe. Real Lyphe is now the name of his own entertainment company, which he co-owns with his manager, and it’s also the name he calls his close friends. He proves going solo has enhanced his writing skills and are more powerful then ever. With the combination of Mancini and great production, you will be pleased by a knockout performance that not even the late Boom Boom Mancini could have delivered.
Born James Torregrossa, Mancini is from the Bushwick section of Brooklyn, New York. A sicilian living in this part of Brooklyn is hard and Mancini has been through it all. In his songs he shows how versatile he is (lyrically) and the street knowledge that he possess. Mancini has looked up to such artists like BIG, PAC, and RAKIM. He knew that in order to be part of this "Hip-Hop" game and compete with other artists, he would have to be just as good or even better than them. His first single, "Que Tu Quieres", opened the doors for him. With the production coming from super producer D/R Period, known for producing such artists as MOP(Ante Up and How About Some Hardcore), Cormega, Onyx, AZ, Smooth Da Hustler, Trigga Da Gambler, etc. was a big break for Mancini. The single which featured Papoose and Trigga Da Gambler was a hit on Hot97’s show, The 5 o’clock Free Ride (DJ RED ALERT), which was played almost everyday. The single was picked up by AV8 Records and was a hit in many places such as Florida, Texas, etc.. As Mancini awaited for the right deal to come along, he started to get into the mixtape game to get a strong street support. Instead of running around begging or paying to get on popular mixtapes, he made his own. With the help of his manager and other Real Lyphe members, they gathered up freestyles from other unsigned and signed artists. To host the mixtapes they reached out to well known DJ’s such as Power 105.1’s own DJ Carl Blaze(RIP) and Salute Entertainment’s own DJ Dennis Da Menace. At this time, they put together one of the hottest mixtapes out on the street, "STREET CREDIBILITY". Street Credibility volumes rang bells in every borough in NYC. Just to give you an idea of how dedicated Mancini and Real Lyphe are, they pressed up 2000+ copies of each volume and gave them out for free. Mancini says, "it’s not for the money, its to get recognition, respect and love from the streets".
Mancini The Knockout King (mixtape 2000+ copies) is the most known release by Mancini which has special guests such as Hot97’s own Mister Cee, DJ Camilo, Power 105.1fm’s own DJ Carl Blaze (RIP), The Crowd Motivator DJ Ace, Salute Entertainment’s own DJ Dennis Da Menace, Brooklyn’s own Rob Lo, Ted Smooth, DJ Lucho and DJ Wreck. It was this cd and his "buzz" in the streets that got him nominated for Best Male Rapper for The Underground Music Awards in 2006 and then he was nominated again for the same category in 2007. Mancini has opened up for many signed artist such as Joell Ortiz, Papoose, The Clipse, Tru Life, JR Writer, and many more. Currently Mancini is in the studio working on his upcoming album. So if you’re ready, open up the CD player, place a Mancini CD in it, pump up the volume and Party Hard...till we speak.
