About me:
Mandala Bob had a background working in western psychiatry, with an interest in Art Therapy, before moving to India for several years to further his studies in meditation and Karma Yoga. This led to him living with the Sadhus of northern India, studying meditation, yoga & symbology, and it nurtured his fascination with the creation and use of Mandalas. They combine physical, psychological, and spiritual aspects to them, and can be used both as decorative or functional artworks.
Using handpainted details by the artist Philip Shadbolt, and photographic collage with a digital twist, each of these mandalas are unique, and will resonate on different levels for different people, to energise and enrich your minds and living spaces.
... “Focus on the center, and allow yourself to be drawn in” ...
The word Mandala is from the ancient Indian language of Sanskrit, and in its simplest translation means Circle, although this is far from just a simple shape. Used in India and Tibet as an aid to meditation, and focusing the power of the mind, it represents wholeness, and can be seen as embodying the structure of life itself ... a cosmic diagram that reminds us of our relation to the infinite wonders, the world that extends both beyond and within our bodies and minds ...
By stilling, and focusing our physical eyes on the centre of the Mandala, with time, patience, and practise, we learn how to focus and still our minds from the everyday clutter of thoughts in our head that constantly seek our attention.
"FOCUS ON THE CENTER, AND ALLOW YOURSELF TO BE DRAWN IN ... "
Kundalini Arts is the shared artistic vision of spiritual artists Philip Shadbolt & Mandala Bob, who have been co-creating their inspirational artwork for over a decade. In this time they’ve had a dynamic journey of self-discovery, having spent several years researching visual imagery and its uses and traditions in India, Australia, and Sri Lanka.
The symbols & colours we choose to view and absorb into our minds on a daily basis, should in themselves be Positive, Powerful & Healing, a design or image that contributes to the Wellness of the watcher, a positive input for our minds and spirits ... Healing Art.
Never ones to follow trends, they have remained true to their artistic ideals, and seek to create images filled with beauty and light ... they believe that visual art can be something that transports and enriches the viewer, helping us to heal in the process.
Their works can be found in collections from around the world, with the use of rich, vibrant colour and nature inspired subject matter providing a welcome escape from everyday life, and their healing arts have now become much sought after.
All of these images have been created using handpainted elements and photographic collage, with a digital twist.

“The divine power, Kundalini, shines like the stem of a young lotus;
Like a snake, coiled round herself, she holds her tail in her mouth,
and lies resting half asleep at the base of the body.”

You never know when someone May catch a dream from you. You never know when a little word, Or something you may do May open up a window Of the mind that seeks the light The way you live may not matter at all... But you never know - it might.
And just in case it could be That another's life through you. Might possibly change for the better With a broader brighter view. It seems it might be worth a try At pointing the way to the right. Of course, it may not matter at all, But then again it might.
