Out of Northern California comes a group of friends with a different take on American Music. Mandatory Merle! What started out as a series of jam music parties turned into a fun loving band. " If we going to "make" music we are going to do it our way. While many bands will try and recreate a popular song as it was recorded , we take that song and change the grove, key etc to fit our fit. We don't care. What comes out is accordion on 80's tunes and mandolin on surf. Acoustic Ramones and electric guitar on Mexican romantic songs. I guess it's like Chicken and waffles. Don't knock it until you try it! We love Chicken and waffles and we love Mandatory Merle!! We hope you do too!"
