Projects Mandisa has guested on
'No Compromise' - Khao, k7! Records
'A Hot Trip To Heaven' - Neon Heights, Shiva Records
With diververse musical influences spanning the width of Soul through to New Wave; Percy Sledge meets Souxie and The Banshees, Mandisa made the flowing Soho Festival crowd stop in their tracks.
Gracing the stage with her unmistakable beauty, Mandisa accessorises herself with songs ranging from the profoundly painful yet beautiful to empowering perspectives found in her lyrics.
Murmurs trembled among the audience with "What a voice!" being the most quoted. Velvety, enriching, substantial and strong, Mandisa's singing style is a difficult one to put into a box. Her style appeals to a wide ranged and eclectic listener and she found no problems adopting newfound fans on the day.
The soulful undertones of the song 'Enough is Enough' shows off her attraction to Paul Weller's genre in song writing. While 'Dirty Lives' showcases a dark funk with her voice working tightly with the bass and percussions.
She is a poised performer with a slightly shy and guarded disposition. Her creative flair is heavily influenced by life, love, loss and renewal. Her big voice takes off from the stage with grace and humbleness.
Her fans, old and thw new join in on her journey riding rhythmic waves. Genuine smiles and nods of consent reverberate among the festival goers. They understand Mandisa and her way of communicating her innermost thoughts and feelings.
Encored for more, Mandisa delivers and the flock of spectators thank her with rapturous applause and a warmth that even the summer sun cold not provide.
