• Hanging out with some mates, having a bourbon and Coke or some wine that comes in cardboard
• Going to kick-arse gigs
• Watching the TV until I see a TV chef, then throwing a potato masher at the TV, just hard enough to make me feel better but not hard enough to break the TV
• Driving around and shouting out my window at dickheads
• Chucking stuff around when I'm pissed off (which is kind of a lot of the time).
MusicRock. All of it.
MoviesHorror, thriller, disaster, etc, especially the ones where someone gets really angry and kills a giant octopus or a baddie with a dodgy dye job, like in Blade Runner.

About me:

I am Mandy Flombay, the author of The Unknown Chef: As Not Seen on TV.

Are you a fancypants gourmet foodie? You should probably avert your eyes immediately, cos you ain't gonna like what you see here. Go off and buy some vanilla beans and organic truffle water or something.

For the rest of you who like stuff like omelettes, pasta, date loaf, pear crumble and other really easy stuff, I say hello, and welcome, and if you want to buy this book you might be lucky enough to find it in a bargain bookstore somewhere in Australia. Or try Dymocks online if you don't mind paying top dollar.

Who I'd like to meet:
All you people who ROCK.

Yo Mandy!

Thanks again for cooking at the KooK launch last Friday night. You're a superstar!

Ms AM and I cooked up a special 'Hangover Fritatta' in your honor on Saturday morning. You'd love it! I will send you the recipe soon!

Would you be interested in selling and signing some of your books on my stand at the Zine Fair?

Were your ears burnin', Flombay? Just two weeks ago I promised your book to someone in their birthday card. It's a hit. I plan to order a few for gifts. Keep writing, Woman...you're a comic genius! Will be looking for your article in the next KooK.

Hey Flom. good to hear from ya. Hope you can put yer teevee spot online ...love to see it. I got hired at a hotel in June. Exec. Chef in the height of the wedding season. The former Chef left and took 4 cooks with 'im. The crew has been rebuilt...check out the Windermere Manor space in my top. Not many photos but more on the way( I think you'll like the head on salmon) So if ever in London Ont. I'll get ya the good rate. Maybe when you do the book tour at the University of Western Ontario (they own the hotel now). Promotion on the university circuit may be just the ticket for ya.Let me know, we'll put it together...for reals

Love your work Mandy. I've told a few meat eating punters about this recipe and they are intrigued to see what you come up with ...

Got my mega tight rock n roll ripped jeans that I bought in New York on for a change today ;)

Mandy, I have rediscovered the Jatz cracker! Two questions: did the Jatz cracker really ever go out of fashion? And could you come up with a slice that uses the Jatz cracker and chocolate (or caramel) and preferably cheese?

Pass on my best to Emma (if you are still speaking....)

May the Jatz be with you
Karen Eliza oo (they're Jatz not hugs!)

Your book is providing me endless amounts of laughter. I have yet to make anything from it though. I wasn't kidding about my pots and pans not making anything but dust.
Hey you out there reading this, buy Flombay's book!

gee whiz, ROCK? thats quite an adjective, i don't know if sitting around procrastinating and chewing my cuticles constitutes toward the criteria of rocking... but thanks nonetheless. I'm intruiged about the cook book, (my flat mate brought home kook on the weekend) I heart food that isn't cuticles...

Wat's cooking Flombay? Fairfield is just a tad different from Glebe ... There is not a fancy pants coffee snob in sight and some of the craziest, dodgy style cafes with the best food ever - and it is CHEAP! I'll let ya know when we need a celebrity chef for the Champion!

...not grill plates so much, how's 'bout I walk around with a box that purportedly contains yer head. I hold the box up to my ear, explaining the steps as told by you, while yer headless body moves through the recipe. I'll rant n' laugh n' flash freeky eyeball...'cause you requested crazy
