Mandy is an eighteen year old homeschool student who is employed to Walt Disney World in the entertainment field. She hopes to one day join the casts of Beauty And The Beast at MGM Studios and Finding Nemo: The Musical at Animal Kingdom.
While she had always directed and performed home-made shows for her family, her first real performance was as a soloist in the chorus of her school's production of Promise U in fourth grade (2000). In fifth grade, she joined a local singing and dancing group (Sound Celebration), and remained with them for three seasons as a soloist for all three productions. ("One" Broadway Season; "Downtown Holiday Hullaballo" Christmas Season; "Hero" American 9/11 Tribute Season.)
After moving to Florida from Virginia she took a break from the public arts, returning to home-made productions until joining Orlando Youth Theatre in September of 2006 for their production of Disney's High School Musical. She took on three roles in this production, playing one of Taylor's brainiacs, a rebel in the "Status Quo" number, and the Science Decathalon Moderator in the "Bop To The Top" number. Now she is directing and performing in the Les Miserables Fan Recording, as the lovesick streetwaif Eponine Thenardier. She is also a member of (another) multilanguage recording of the show, as Madeleine and the Cosette understudy.
She is currently portraying the role of Fantine in Les Miserables: School Edition, to be performed at Orlando Youth Theatre in May.
As for coveted roles in musical theatre productions, she dreams of playing Belle in Disney's Beauty And The Beast and Eponine or Fantine in Les Miserables. Other roles she would like to play include Nemo & Dory in Disney's Finding Nemo: The Musical, Ariel in Disney's The Little Mermaid, Sharpay Evans in Disney's High School Musical, Aida or Amneris in Disney's Aida, Jasmine in Disney's Aladdin, Mimi or Maureen in RENT, and Bombalurina, Demeter or Rumpleteazer in CATS.
She looks to broadway stars Lea Salonga, Susan Egan, and Paige O'Hara for her musical inspiration - Lea Salonga for her roles of Jasmine (Aladdin), Mulan (Mulan), and Eponine (Les Miserables); and Susan Egan and Paige O'Hara for their roles as Belle (Beauty & The Beast/On Broadway). Other favorites include Jodi Benson, Sierra Boggess, Idina Menzel, Kristin Chenoweth, Heather Headley, Sherie Rene Scott and others.
