Sounds Like
I don't sound like anyone but myself. Although, if you have any suggestions to offer feel free to comment. However, I believe that I can sing other's songs very well... Mariah Carey, Aretha, Whitney, Christina... major DIVAs... that I enjoy belting or feeling. :)
I was born 3/18/83 from a single woman without a plan. My first song supposedly was "Somewhere Over the Rainbow". I don't really remember how old I was, but if I had to guess, I'd say 3. But everyone always says that. I have an old halarious recording of myself singing "Love Shack" at the age of 8. My first public performance would be during 2nd grade as a side choir for some play back at Independence in Bolingbrook, IL. As I got other, I kept singing. I scored my first solo in middle school singing that "Mine" song from Pocahontas. "The Gold of Ortez... the Rules of Pazarro...", "It's Mine Boys, Mine for the Making...". I suppose I was the only one that could pull it off right, cause all the others had pretty girly voices, (which I was jealous because I secretly really wanted one of the popular songs that the other 2 girls received). H.S. followed with more choir, all four years, and luckily I scored my own entire song during the POPS Concert at Romeoville High School singing Mariah Carey's "Make It Happen". It was amazing. The audience loved it and the following school day I had people come up to me that didn't know I could sing because in choir, I blended with the rest. Isn't that what you're or we're supposed to do? College. College. College. At Denison University in Granville, Ohio, I joined the African American Gospel choir and stayed in it for every semester there. I enjoyed it so much that I went with a few students in the choir to Portugal to sing four public concerts. It was an experience beyond description. I met amazing people. There's just too much to tell... I met a famous Brazlian Lation Band there, in which the night before had clapped for me as I embarrassedly approached the elevators to my room. The next night, I identfied them at this club next door to the hotel in which we were invited back stage and sung "One Sweet Day" with the lead singer of "EVA" I believe who knew no English whatsoever. I haven't been able to find any info on them, so I'm wondering if I heard the name wrong. Also... at one performance, I felt the spirit of God and thought the reverand was giving me the okay or "calling me out"... so I ran out on the stage and danced and sang my bootie off. Oh man, did I make controversy. Some said good for me. Others were pissed. But eh, I really thought God told me to do it. It wasn't for selfish intentions. HA! After college, I've just been randomly working with people. Unfortunately, I haven't met anyone recently to work on projects. I miss singing, so please find me! Also, you can occasionally find me singing karaoke.... I'll try to remember to say when or where I'm going next! @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@April 21st, 2008 UPDATE:
On April 20th, 2008 in Dalian, China at a hotel, I had the privilege of singing two songs for Web International’s 2nd Year Anniversary party. I sang Mariah Carey’s “Vision of Love” and “Hero” which went over especially well with my Chinese audience.
@@@Teach me the definition of true love. I am not supposed to be afraid of me.
“We will be collecting toys for children in our atrium. Each toy should be between $5 and $10. Please wrap the toy and mark it with a ‘B’ or ‘G’ for boy or girl; and ‘P’ for ages 1-6 or ‘E’ for ages 7-12. On Saturday, December 15th, at 10am, we will be distributing the toys to families who come through the food panty in our area. We will also be praying with each family.”
Hello everyone,
Please help us collect toys for the children at the food panty. More than half of the people who go to our local pantry are children from many surrounding suburbs and most of them get nothing for Christmas. For $5 you can give something to open for Christmas! Please find it in your heart to treat someone who usually is overlooked. You can drop your wrapped present at our church at “Living Water Community Church”, 190 Lily Cache Lane, Bolingbrook, IL 60440. It is located near Food4Less and Harris Bank. Their phone number is (630) 759-5799. Please do this before December 15th! If you feel comfortable you may also drop them off at my home, I’m right by the church. Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. If anyone wants to participate but does not want to shop, you can feel free to donate $5 or $10 dollars and I will shop for you, or perhaps you can drop off your donation at the church. We have a goal of distributing 500 gifts to children at the food pantry, so any contribution will help! Please forward this message to help reach many!
I'm turning 24 on March 18th... I was thinin about throwing a party but that costs money and I'd like to make sure that people will be coming if I'm going to buy the space and food for it.
Please read my blog for more info if you're interested.
Also, if this goes down... I'd like a dj for the evening hours.... usually when I have parties... it's starts in the afternoon or late afternoon til evening hours.. so maybe if any of you want to be SOOO awesomely kind to offer an hour or two to DJ in Bolingbrook, I'd be so happy... and tha'd in itself would be an awesome present.
