About me:
Mankato Woodworks is a custom woodworking shop located in Mankato, MN. It is owned and operated by Dave Begalka. Mankato Woodworks is the only dedicated full time luthiery specialist in south central MN. We are the proud builders of Lapro Electric Resonator Guitars. Lapro Guitars have a hand lathed maple resonator cone for balanced gutsy tone. We offer a fine selection of pickups and replacement parts from L.R.Baggs, Highlander, Fishman, Allparts, WD, and others. I play slide guitar and dobro in a folky doke rocky band called the B Squad (See Friends...) Previously I have been involved in a variety of musical projects based out of Mankato including Algo Underground, Libido Boyz, BlackBlackSea (rip), and solo acoustic guitar performances. The lapros look sweet! Someday I'll have to purchase one! Yes I use a beard capo for my dobro all the time. It seems ok and works fine. I know there is probably a better one out there. I would love to see what you have and try it! Next time I'm in kato I'll have to stop by.
