In september 2008, three men met at the Dundee University Bands society got together to jam some face shattering black metal with a shovel full of progression. Max, Dave and Andy proudly destroyed the atmosphere at the puny DUBS meeting and decided to get together to write some ear abusing Progressive Black Metal.
They named themselves Man Made Origin.
Then a figure emerged from the shadows of a DUBS live set, his name was Dan Hughes. A drummer from local bands Goom and Room 2, he pledged to learn bass so that Man Made Origin could tear a new one in the Local scene.

We have finally finished all the songs for our first record "State of Nature". It will be released November 13th - available at Groucho's on Perth Road, Dundee and at any of our gigs. The inital number of copies going to be printed is 100 - Featuring a four page booklet, double side back insert and artwork printed on disc - i.e. we spare no expense in bringing you a very pretty record. The Artwork we are also really proud of - done by our own fantastic Graphic Designer Julia Kibble - any other bands should give her a shout.
We have started a FREE monthly metal night at our live home in Dundee - The Balcony Bar - which will be held every second Friday of each month organised by ourselves, featuring our favourite bands and of course a set from us. Check out the exact dates in our upcoming show section.
