I play a song once in a while that Leonard Cohen wrote. I always said I'd never cover it, or record it, because a.) everyone covers it, and b.) no one covers it better than Buckley. Well, for some reason I started playing it once in a while. I've performed it maybe a dozen times in concert, probably less, but ever since I sang it in the UK, I've been getting emails every day from people asking for me to record it. Well, I recorded an acoustic version of it for you folks, along with some older tracks from my first live studio album from a few years ago that I don't sell anymore. I hope you like it. It's up on my page for you to listen to and see if you like it. It won't be up there for very long, so give it a listen and see what you think. The album has Hallelujah, along with acoustic versions of Let It Go, All I Ask, Journey, and Without You. It's a pretty relaxing compilation!!

I moved out to LA from Virginia with my brother Matt and started playing music a few years ago. Since then I have had the great opportunity to perform live for 5 million viewers on the KTLA morning show, (yes, there were some nerves for that one.;) as well as in the Star 98.7 star lounge. I'm thankful I've had the opportunity to play all over the US, in places like the Hotel Cafe in LA, the Bitter End in NYC, and other venues from Orlando to Vancouver, Canada. After some song placements on movies and TV shows on ABC and the CW, (like "Supernatural"), there have been quite a few shows, and tours, in the UK and I'm really hoping to get over to France and Germany soon! You can find my Studio album on CD baby, and Itunes, and a couple live ones for sale on this page. I'm presently excited to be in the studio working on my second studio album! Thanks for stopping by! Have a listen and let me know what you think!
I've had a video from Asylum 1 up for a long time, and it's kinda fun to replace it with this video from Asylum 3, two years later! The sound quality isn't great, but you get the idea, and it's fun to hear 1400 folks helping me out in the chorus! The songs are originals entitled "Another Number" and "Vagabond Blues."
This is from my show in Manchester in November of 07. It is a medley that Gavin Degraw showed me.
This is also from Asylum, just a few days ago in Birmingham, England! It's an original song called "Perfect Spot," and a much requested cover of a beautiful song...

Thank you thank you THANK YOU soooo much for (finally) recording Hallelujah! I fell in love with this song when I heard Kate Voegele sing it, and then I heard rumor that you did a version in some shows... and your version rivals Kate's for favorite version, I honestly cannot choose between the two of you (which is why I still say you need to try to record a version with her, lol).
As soon as I'm not tragically broke, I'm so buying that new CD so I can have your version of Hallelujah even after you take it off your page :D (So hopefully middle of next month some time I can afford it, lol).
AMAZING! i sat here and cried how you can say your's is not the best recording ever is a lack of faith on your behalf, best recording of any song i have ever heard (even bridge over troubled water) and that was hard to admit lol xx
Hey J!! Loved the new song!!! Hallelujah!!! Loved it!!! Beautiful!! Thanks for sharin! Hope this finds you well!! Have a wonderful show this weekend :) Wish i could be there to see ya!! Take care Safe travels!! With many hugs your way from NC Jess and kids :)
Music is an enigma.I clicked onto this link for Hallelujah from FB after hearing my stepfather in Texas is so near death.I couldn't move.Your voice, the conviction of the words, the love intoned in every emotion and the beauty of the pain, almost as if you were composing it all at that moment in time and from some tale told of your own grievances against wrongs, need of love life and hurt. Like you were breathing, drawing a breath, for every soul listening that was drowning! It broke me ,in a good way and I cried...and I Do NOT cry, can't really. I would rather get my eyes tattooed again and that hurt!I cried ,sobbed and even punched the wall(not breaking my hand this time)If music can heal, move us, it did and it may be my saving grace and keep me away from the Yen-shee through this. You don't have to post this as it is kind of embarrassing but I wanted, no, had to thank you! Man, your music, voice and how you sing is a powerful gris gris!In your debt!
added Hallelujah to my profile, amazing version. I am trying to ad the album to cart to purchase, but when I click the button nothing is coming up, hope it resolves soon. I am really enjoying your other album I got.
Hey Jason, Thanks for uploading Hallelujah tonight, I couldn't have asked for a better birthday present (it just ticked past midnight as you put up the announcement on facebook). I'm sorry I won't be able to make it to the London shows, I wish I could be there because your performance at Asylum this year was awesome. I'll just have to make do with the new tune, and hope you come back again soon. C x
Hi there, I know It's kind of early but I wanted to make sure I get to everyone on my friends list because this is one of my favorite holidays of the year. I am a proud American and the 4th of July is a day to remember all those who have fought and are still fighting for our freedom. While we Sleep They Wake, While We enjoy our bbq's and swim in the pool.. They're defending our borders and eating sand. I salute all the men and women who make it possible everyday for my children and I to live a free life and if you are one of them ~~ From the bottom of my heart I THANK YOU!!! So Please take a moment on the 4th and remember what it really stands for... That Red White and Blue is not just a piece of cloth.. It is a SYMBOL of our freedom and the men and women who fight for it.
Happy Independence Day!!!! ~Kim
I'm Proud To Be An American Written By Lee Greenwood
If tomorrow all the things were gone I'd worked for all my life, And I had to start again with just my children and my wife, I'd thank my lucky stars to be living here today, 'Cause the flag still stands for freedom and they can't take that away.
I'm proud to be an American where at least I know I'm free, And I won't forget the men who died who gave that right to me, And I gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today, ' Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land God Bless the U.S.A.
From the lakes of Minnesota to the hills of Tennessee, Across the plains of Texas from sea to shining sea. From Detroit down to Houston and New York to L.A. , There's pride in every American heart and it's time we stand and say:
I'm proud to be an American where at least I know I'm free, And I won't forget the men who died who gave that right to me, And I gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today, ' Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land God Bless the U.S.A.
Howdy! :) Thanks for adding me! Means a lot :P I absolutely LOVE your music, it's insanely amazing. And I love the blend of both yours and Jensen's voices together when you sing "Crazy Love," you should sing more together :)
Hi Jason. I just wanted to stop by and say thank you for adding me. I love listening to your music. I love the song Crazy Love. Have a great week. Lots of Love.....
