As you read this, thousands of hip-hop children are huddled around computers, experimenting with their own style & brand of hip-hop. This genre remains as one of the few music mediums that not only allows, but nurtures and exists upon dedicated individuals who are concerned with little else beyond giving life to the next hot track. This occurs in both high-tech studios as well as random rooms of residence comprised of a computer, small soundboard and a padded closet to attain vocal levels, across the nation. Currently, anyone can put out a hip-hop album, which in turn blurs the dividing line between downright quality and nothing more than an influx of quantity. Independent record labels rise and fall, and unfortunately the careers of their artists often follow suit.
Emerging from this madness is PURPOSE.
Purpose can be defined in many ways.
The MATTER at HAND; the POINT at ISSUE.
The quality of being determined to do or achieve something.
The object toward which one strives or for which something exists;
an aim or a goal.
A result or effect that is intended or desired.
DETERMINATION; RESOLUTION.
He is a man of purpose.
Some people want to become artists, for others artistry has chosen them. Purpose is of the latter. With an unfiltered style, his messages flow from an inner realm of realness that he taps into without much effort. He speaks of lifes experiences with pure and direct emotion. Ultimately, Purpose is a fan of hip-hop who fits perfectly into the role of a MC. His distinct style gives hip-hop heads young and old something to relate to. With this new breed of honesty and integrity, Purpose proves that you can still have catchy hooks and mind-bending lyrics without having to sacrifice sustenance and respect. Never one to shy away from any topic, Purpose is always armed with venom to make you fade like denim and leave you snake bit.
Purpose would rather not compare himself to other artists, but has been humbled when others have compared his lyrical prowess to MCs like Andre 3000 & Eminem, with the vocal appeal of Snoop Dogg and a delivery as captivating as Ludacris.
Purpose stands for hip-hop, not gangsta rap. He is a fan of the story-telling art form that is hip-hop, not the boasting, bragging and bravado that currently taints hip-hop. Purposes sole train of thought rests in the resolve that there is so much more to hip-hop music than the possession and placement of jewelry, the kind of car one may be found driving and the number of women one has used and abused. Purpose is proof that there are still artists who approach the craft earnestly and who follow the path that was originally designed for true lyricists. He is a businessman who takes the job of entertainment very seriously, and an artist who paints his canvas with conscious lyrics.
Purpose is on a steady rise to the top. The debut album IT IS WHAT IT IS is currently gaining fans and accolades among both old and new school hip-hop aficionados.
