The Quartet as it was, called time in 2008. Jon and Matt still play as a duo throughout the UK, and are looking forward to 2009 festival shows at Secret Garden Party, Broadstairs Folk Week and Small World Festival - oh, and a mini tour of the Scilly Isles in September.
Gigs sometimes feature guest artists on drums and bass. Lately, we've been working with Bryan Paul (bass), who's toured Europe and Africa extensively and supported artists such as Harry Belafonte and Eric Clapton, and Steve Laffy (drums), who's worked with artists such as William Bell, Chris Jagger, Womack and Womack, Zoot Money, Thunderclap Newman and the Foundations.

'Jazz and flamenco meet in the playing of the Manos Puestas Quartet. The sound is acoustic and the frontline comprises two nylon-stringed guitar wizards, Jon Lewis and Matt Sullivan. The repertoire draws on latin-tinged tunes from the bebop era and genuine flamenco from Andalucia...... Lewis and Sullivan play with fire and the rhythm section clearly values excitement...... On the Latin scale of passion, Manos Puestas edge more towards the tempestuous than the languid' Metro, May 2006.
Through their stylish original compositions and innovative re-workings of Bebop classics, the Manos Puestas Quartet combine the improvisational flair and technical expertise of the jazz idiom with a deep commitment to groove and audience excitement. Previous festival appearances for MPQ’s musicians include WOMAD, Glastonbury and Montreux Jazz.

Black Carrot (Market Harborough) are a vibrant quintet who perform new-wave krautrock jazz madness that oozes rock with a psychotic edge. Fierce and abstract yet serving the concept of the song, their unique sound nods towards Beefheart and Pere Ubu but is shot through with flavours of New York jazz skronk, and the loosest, funkiest Krautrock.
"Black Carrot are truly inspired musicians" - Jean Hervé Peron/Faust Black Carrot release their second studio album "Drink The Black Forest" on Tin Angel Records on 3rd November 2008. To support the release initially they will be playing UK tour support for Baby Dee throughout late November early December in addition to their own headline shows in the Midlands and London.
