The band MANTICORE was formed in early 2006 and hails from Greenville, South Carolina. Their debut album was released in December 2006. Early in 2007, the band finalized their lineup and released a video for the song “A New Dawn” which can be viewed on this site. MANTICORE began performing live in April 2007. The band played approximately 45 shows throughout the rest of the year primarily in North and South Carolina and Georgia. After performing in November with the band Weedeater, MANTICORE took the rest of the year off to focus on writing and recording their second full length album.
MANTICORE has finished writing all songs for their upcoming release and is currently in the process of recording them for the album due out in the spring of 2008
In 2008, in support of the release of their second album, the band is preparing to perform live starting early in January. MANTICORE plans on performing at a minimum of 75 to 80 shows throughout the year. The band will be expanding the area they travel to include a trip to the Midwest, as well as several trips to the Northeastern, U.S., along with performances at several outdoor festivals during 2008.
MANTICORE will be shopping their material to a variety of record labels, management companies and distributors. Hi .. just wanted to use this space to promote the MOTOGRATER show at
New Brookland Tavern in W.Columbia THIS SAT, Dec. 5. L.i.E. is one of
the four regional bands playing in support and want to encourage you to
check out this show. Also As Sick As As from Asheville, NC and
Decadence and Face Down from Columbia.
Motograter played Ozzfest in 2003, and their song "Suffocate" appeared
in the remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The show will be $10 at the
door (+3 if under 21) and will have a little bit of something for
everyone, musicially speaking as well as visually.
Finally we are ready
to come out of our cocoon and release our first full length recording called
Moonlit Numina. It will be released the 3rd of October 2009. But in the
meantime you can listen to the three songs appearing on The Moonlit Single.
