TO TELL YOU A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF: I STARTED MY INTEREST IN MUSIC AT A VERY YOUNG AGE. WHILE IN HIGH SCHOOL, I JOINED THE MARCHING BAND AND JAZZ BAND AT WEEQUAHIC HIGH SCHOOL IN NEWARK N.J. IN WHICH I PLAYED ALTO SAX AND DRUMS. I ALSO PLAYED IN A LOCAL 9-PIECE BAND CALLED THE SOUL SOUND SYNDICATE.
AFTER HIGH SCHOOL, I STARTED DJING AT WILLIAM PATTERSON COLLEGE. I LATER STARTED MY OWN PRODUCTION"DUB MASTERS LTD" THEN "GET LOOSE PRODUCTIONS" AND THEN "N2U". MY MIXING STYLE WAS MAINLY INFLUENCED BY LARRY LEVAN OF THE PARADISE GARAGE. AFTER TAKING A FEW WRONG TURNS IN LIFE, I LEFT THE MUSIC SCENE IN 1995, BUT ON DECEMBER 31, 2003, PRODUCER/SONG WRITER JOE FLAME ASKED ME TO WRITE A SPOKEN WORD ABOUT ME DANCING. I AGREED AND THE NEXT DAY WE RECORDED "DANCE OR DIE" WHICH OPENED A NEW DOOR TO LIFE FOR ME.
TWO DAYS LATER, I MET MY SOUL MATE, MAXINE. WITH THE WILL OF GOD AND THE LOVE AND SUPPORT OF MAXINE, I STARTED MANTREE RECORDS. I'VE SINCE PRODUCED "THE MAX", "NUBIAN SISTA", "VANITA", "MR. AL COOK" AKA "JUST", "TOP SECRET", "EUGENE ARMSTRONG", "KT BROOKS", "EDDIE NICHOLAS", "CHARLES SPANN", "JOSE CASADO," and " Ms LIBBY JONES" ALONG WITH TRACKS OF MY OWN.
IN THE FUTURE, I PLAN TO WORK WITH AS MANY ARTISTS AND PRODUCERS THAT "MY HIGHER POWER" WILL ALLOW AND TO BRING YOU HOUSE MUSIC THAT WILL NOT JUST MOVE YOUR FEET, BUT WILL ALSO MOVE YOUR SPIRIT.
JUST THINK, IF THERE WAS NO HOUSE MUSIC, WE WOULD ALL BE HOMELESS.
