The Manuscript is an inimitable meeting of minds. Dedicated to their art, The Manuscript strives to take the diverse backgrounds of its members and fuse them into their own unique sound. The Manuscript believes in the power of originality and does not try to be mainstream. Each member is an extremely creative artist in their own write with a passion for the art of music, poetry, and song. Our goal is to provide a musical experience that takes the listener to a surreal personal place where they can surrender to the power of word and music. The Manuscript: We find through our words and our sound a kinship that is spiritual. It becomes more than a bunch of stories & experiences or just music; it becomes a blueprint to where we've been, where we are and where we are going.
Originally known as "More Than Music" a group of poet/singers/rappers/musicians came together in Chicago to form "The Manuscript." Each member brings something different to the group.
They Have received praises from the Nationally Known and Award Winning Poetry Ensemble "Verbal Balance". 8X Love and B.Jackson ("Paparazzi" at the time) have also Featured at the nationally known "DuSable Museum of African American History" in a poetry event called "Dusable Soul" They were also the only poets invited by Calumet College Of ST. Joseph as the only poets to take part in their first annual Hip Hop Forum- http://ccsj.edu/locations/main.html
And they were featured at Saint Xavier University at an open mic event called "The Last Night On The Corner" So look out for this group they are Making Major Moves throughout Chicago
