關於 Mr. Mike

If one day some one decides to chronicle the birth and progression of house music in Switzerland one name that could not be excluded from the list of pioneers is Mr Mike. Jamaican born, British educated, Mike arrived in Switzerland in 1987. Changing his name to Mr Mike he immediately started working for the Swiss national Radio network on Couleur 3 and started getting the recognition and popularity that he deserved. At the time he was already an accomplished Dj and MC and started co-organising parties in the Montreux-Lausanne-Neuchâtel triangle. He produced various tracks in collaboration with different Djs, but “Put your hands up in the air” and “Pump it up” made him rise to the top, and gave him the international recognition that still holds today. In 2002 he decides to take a step forward and creates his own record label, MAP Dance records, to promote Swiss talent internationally. In 2005 he co-produces the international hit ”Zookey” with his young protégé Yves Larock, more then 150 000 copies were sold in France only, it was a great success in clubs worldwide. We only have to wait 2 years for the second hit to come out of MAP Dance records. ”Rise up”, is an even bigger success then the Zookey, the licenses of the single are sold to more then 24 countries. This confirms the status of Yves Larock as an international Dj and producer and the status of Mr Mike as a successful businessman and label owner.
