"Maple Leaves blend folk sensibilities with what seems to be genuine happiness...their affinity, if only by name, with an object that naturally flows in the breeze serves as the perfect moniker to their bright and charming style" - The List (Ryan Drever).
"...As with all good compilations, you need to start with a bang. Or in Maple Leaves' case a massive aural hug. The Glasgow trio..produce summery, three-minute folk-pop songs that pay homage to their heroes, The Shins, and should kick off [T in the Park] in sun-kissed fashion." - Sunday Herald (Edd McCracken)
"Achingly sweet indie-pop with boy-girl harmonies" - The Scotsman (Nick Mitchell)
"Not every three-piece can make such a big, voluptuous sound, and it’s their sheer musicality that does it for me every time....this is a band capable of taking us back to the roots of music, much like Belle & Sebastian once did". - Under The Radar (Claire Sinclair)
"Maple Leaves seem almost preternaturally chirpy, sun-kissed and enthusiastic, coming from the Alex Chilton school of laid back guitar pop....I’m sold." - Showburner.com
"With their dreamy girl-boy vocals and penchant for colouring their songs with flute, piano and acoustic guitar, Maple Leaves are guaranteed to put the spring into anyone's summer." - The Pop Cop (thepopcop.blogspot.com)

Oxjam October 2009 video with Maple Leaves
*n.b release date at end is not 2010 but thank you so much to those talented and lovely oxjam folk..! www.myspace.com/oxjam_glasgow
Maple Leaves is Anna Miles, Julian Corrie and Graeme Thomson.
They formed in Glasgow in late 2008 at an Open Mic night, realising their mutual love for story songs and catchy melodies. Despite the name, Maple Leaves are not in fact Canadian, and hail from Newcastle upon Tyne, London and Kirkintiloch respectively.
Maple Leaves were recently selected from thousands of bands to play on the T Break Stage at this year's T in the Park Festival 2009 in Balado, Kinross and played and were subsequently featured on BBC Three.
Maple Leaves have also been played on Vic Galloway's 'Scotland Introducing' show (BBC Radio 1); 'Jim Gellatly's New Music' (Radio Magnetic); 'Rapal' (BBC Radio Nan Gaidheal) and the 'Glasgow Podcart' Podcast.
Having written more songs than they know what to do with, Maple Leaves are going into the studio to record an E.P, to be released in the new year. In the meantime, Anna can be heard singing on Belle and Sebastian's forthcoming 'God Help The Girl' album with Stuart Murdoch, and Julian can be found making electronica as Miaoux Miaoux.

Hey Hey hey!! Yeah, busy busy busy just now. Drawing a lovely wedding Saturday in Lanark, submitting a couple of articles for different things, preparing for live projected drawing at Eid on the Drive at the Tramway and preparing for a week's storyboarding workshop for 32 5th years in Aviemore(I also get to go kayaking, climbing, mountain biking and other mountain fun stuff - cool huh?!), as well as Expo stuff - having a show in Edinburgh Library on Wednesday 14th October 6pm on with Found and another Edinburgh based artist - hopefully a poet.
