OUR HISTORY In 1592, an Evangelical church was torn down to build THE MAPLEWOOD ENTITY. It remained uninhabited for over 400 years because of ghosts and nuclear waste. Eventually the property was purchased by a man known as "The Hairdo" for $20. Unable to sell the property for a profit, he rented it out to a bunch of musicians and their associates. From that time on, Maplewood has become the home of numerous Chicago musicians, artists, and local feral animals. "The Hairdo" has not been seen since.
