We like to eat collectively or alone, we enjoy music of all types but especially Bree Sharp, we like cooking or rather just licking the bowl, we enjoy fire hydrants and bushes, cat nip, bones, rawhides, and nice walks. Some of us really enjoy playing with stuff and some of us like to be on our own but all of us love people and need forever homes. We just want a second chance.

MAPPAR is a domestic and farm animal sanctuary dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitative care, protection and placement of abused, abandoned, neglected or displaced animals, and equally dedicated to advocating a compassionate lifestyle through humane education efforts. Founded in 1996, MAPPAR is a 10 acre Sanctuary located in Pardeeville, WI. MAPAR is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
Sanctuary tours are offered based on volunteer availability. Please call ahead to make a reservation at 608.215-8658 or email at info@mappar.org
Adopt a Shelter Animal – Instead of going to a pet shop or breeder, please consider adopting a shelter pet. Shelter animals are special and will thank you every day for giving them a loving, permanent home. All of our animals receive thorough and regular veterinary care, ranging from the routine to the specialized. Before going to their new adoptive homes, our animals receive rabies and distemper shots and are spayed/neutered. All cats are “combo tested” for FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus) and FeLV (feline leukemia virus); all dogs are tested for heartworm disease.
Meet all the great animals that are up for adoption and fostering.
Volunteer – Consider donating your time and energy by helping with animal care, fundraising, and special events. Volunteering is a great way to:
Gain satisfaction from helping homeless animals
Meet new friends, both two and four-legged
Satisfy community service requirements
Learn new skills – from animal care to social interaction
Get unconditional love from our Shelter animals
Improve self-esteem and learn responsibility
Get involved in your community!
Donate – As you can imagine, we use a lot of supplies, from food and toys to paper towels and laundry detergent. For instance, we go through a ton (yes, you read that right!) of cat litter each month. To replenish our supplies, we rely on donations from people like you. All of your donations goes for the care of our Shelter animals. Here’s how you can help:
Wish List – Please check our Wish List, which is updated regularly and included on this website, on area supermarket donation bins (see below), and in our newsletter, “MAPPAR News.” We are constantly in need of non-clumping, clay cat litter as well as Iams wet and dry dog, cat, and kitten food.
Cash – Don’t carry all that heavy, extra change around! Donate it in our MAPPAR donation banks, conveniently located in participating local shops, convenience stores, and at the Sanctuary. Haven't see one? Ask your local retailer or business if we can bring them one. You’ll feel good and your overloaded wallet will thank you!
Help set-up Supermarket Donation Bins – Ask grocers if you can set up our signature red and white donation bins at your local grocer. Then people can drop off donations. We will appreciate these stores’ continued support and encourage you to patronize these area supermarkets!
Silent Auction and Raffle Items – Are you or your company interested in:
Valuable exposure in the local community with no advertising costs?
Corporate awareness among your customers and employees?
A note of personal thanks?
Tax deductions according to federal guidelines?
Personal satisfaction from supporting a local, no-kill animal shelter?
Then consider donating a silent auction or raffle item to one or more of the MAPPAR fundraising events. Some of our best sellers include: theme gift baskets, animal related products, restaurant gift certificates, cars, scooters, boats, mopeds, spa and personal care gift certificates, food and wine, travel and accommodations, and sports memorabilia or tickets. For more information, please email, or call 608-215-8658.
Ask Your Employer About Company Matching Gifts – What an easy way to double or triple your donation to MAPPAR! Many companies encourage their employees to make charitable donations by offering a matching gift program. Your company’s matching donation to MAPPAR – a tax-exempt, non-profit, 501(c)3 charitable organization – qualifies for certain tax deductions. Contact your company’s human resources department to determine if your employer matches gifts to MAPPAR. If MAPPAR is not on your company’s list, please email, or call (608-215-8658), and we will send out an information packet to your company’s human resources representative.
Buy Shelter Merchandise – You asked for it! MAPPAR logo workshirts, T-shirts, hoodies, messenger bags, coozies, and calendars make great gifts and are available at the Shelter and online here. All proceeds help our Shelter animals.
Attend and/or Sponsor Shelter Events – We hold a number of fundraising events during the year, with 100% of all proceeds going for the care of our homeless animals. You can see this year’s upcoming events on the Fundraising section on the home page. We look forward to seeing you!
Organize Your Own Fundraiser – Be creative! Organize your own fundraiser or donation drive. The generosity and creativity of our donors have absolutely blown us away. Here are just a few of the great ideas and ways people have helped support the Shelter last year:
Are you talented? Like professional photographer (Dan Rieber) who has donated his time and talents by taking photos of people and their pets to donate MAPPAR.
Bands, Musicians - National recording artists like Bree Sharp, Don DiLego, have donated their performance to MAPPAR when playing our Hoe-Down for Annimals. Bree and Don are now a band - Beautiful Small Machines
Artist, Sandi Gold (Pet Portraits by Sandi Gold) has donated her talents to provide you with custom artwork prints of your animals, while donating a portion to MAPPAR.
Contact Full Circle Realty about the sale or purchase of a home. With the mention of MAPPAR, Full Circle Realty will donate 15% of their commission to the Shelter on behalf of their clients.
Organize a fashion show, a plant sale, art sale or other event with proceeds going to MAPPAR.
Donate your Tzedakah Box, in the Jewish tradition of charitable giving, to MAPPAR.
Organize a neighborhood lemonade stand and/or donation drive to donate Wish List items.
Request that in lieu of birthday or wedding gifts, donations be made to the MAPPAR.
In lieu of an entrance fee or cover charge, request that attendees at a meeting or other event bring a can of animal food or other Wish List items.
Memorials – A thoughtful and special way to remember those who have passed away is to request that donations be made to the MAPPAR in lieu of flowers. Memorial plaques can also be purchased and engraved and will be hung at the Shelter. Memorial donations in memory of human and animal loved ones are included in our newsletter, “MAPPAR News.”
Planned Giving -- Including MAPPAR in your will or estate plan is a wonderful way to help the Friends of MAPPAR further its mission with a lasting legacy. Planned gifts allow the Friends to continue to provide essential care and services to homeless animals while building a strong foundation for the future. Bequests and other contributions to the Friends of MAPPAR qualify for certain charitable tax deductions. More detailed information on planned giving is included on this website.
Ebayers – Can donate a percentage of your ebay sales and purchases by buying and selling unwanted items and donating a percentage to MAPPAR with eBay Giving Works Now. Need to learn more about how easy MAPPAR's eBay Giving works program is? Yes.
Turn your old jewelry into cash for MAPPAR! Broken chains, class rings, lonely earrings – every little bit helps. Loving Animals, Loving the Environment. Donate jewelery to MAPPAR. Send us all your broken jewelry, and help MAPPAR. Yes, it’s that easy to help!

“Racism is simply an ugly form of collectivism, the mindset that views humans strictly as members of groups rather than individuals.
By encouraging Americans to adopt a group mentality, the advocates of so-called ‘diversity’ actually perpetuate racism. Their obsession with racial group identity is inherently racist
We should understand that racism will endure until we stop thinking in terms of groups and begin thinking in terms of individual liberty.”
