"Map The Music" is a documentary feature film about music, focusing on what it
means to people. The project attempts to explain how it helps us survive through not only difficult times, but in everyday life. We will have a nice balance of fan and artist interviews, backstage, studio and live performance footage. A very emotional, honest, and exciting piece - Map the Music is sure to find its way into the hearts of all who see it!
Music
When first filming for this project in November 2006 we got to know the fans of the lovely Imogen Heap. And of course we asked Immi what music means to her too!
“So long as the human spirit thrives on this planet, music in some living form will accompany and sustain it and give it expressive meaning.” – Aaron Copland
Movies
Well since I am a movie I enjoy myself very much...
This film is currently being considered for the Sundance, Slamdance, and Santa Barbara International Film Festivals, is registered with the Writers Guild of America, and is supported by Imogen Heap.
“Music is a higher revelation than philosophy.” - Ludwig van Beethoven
“Music was my refuge. I could crawl into the space between the notes and curl my back to loneliness.” - Maya Angelou
LISA (Toasty) : Film watcher and filmmaker. Massachusetts born & bred. College educated in California. Enjoys shooting photographs, chasing cats, playing sports, sticking stickers, listening to DVD audio commentaries, eating cheese, and spreading the music. The silent one.
SAMANTHA : Wise ass in general, improvisor and Second City alumna, granddaughter of The Skipper on Gilligan's Island and therefore genetically diseased to be an actor, fervent music lover, and filmmaker. The not-so-silent one.

This documentary is not only about Imogen Heap, rather it will focus on MUSIC and the reactions and EMOTIONS it invokes, and many artists are involved. We just wrapped up our last bit of filming in London, while visiting Imogen and Kate.
Who I'd like to meet:
Anyone and everyone with something to say. We interviewed people all over the United States about their thoughts on music...talking about how it affects mood and behaviour... and how it seems to have the ability to heal people.
But why? How?
After all, the best place to find people who love music is at a concert! Although there is a vast pool of amazing artists out there, we decided to get out on the road with Imogen first because she is a truly unique, intelligent artist, and being fans ourselves we realized that she has some wonderful fans who we wanted to talk to! We knew they would definitely speak for themselves (pun absolutely intended!)
