Maqama was assembled in Tel Aviv, Israel in summer 2006 by sister and brother Noa (Keyboard, vocal) and Ido (Bass) Lewit Joined by long time friend and musical companion drummer David Baruch and guitar wizard Udi Glaser. While influences run from pop, classical, 70th Hebrew music and progressive rock to jazz-fusion and metal Maqama has its own sound characterized by Noa's unique compositions and the entire band's intricate instrumental arrangements.
Debut Album titled "Maqama" is out on August 2008 and is now available on ktsat-acheret record store (new location on 41 Pinsker St. Tel-Aviv) as well as other record stores.
