I am interested in everything. I love to attend bead shows, ball games, concerts, plays.

Music
Ok maybe just a few... 3 doors down, Aretha Franklin, Indigo Girls, Melissa Etheridge, Smash Mouth, The Black Crowes, Train, Blues Traveler, Barenaked Ladies, Five For Fighting, James Taylor, Matchbox Twenty, Paula Cole, Sarah McLachlan, Jewel, Billy Idol, Sting, ... Dixie Chicks are the only country artists that made the cut But I do love them... And recently added to the list Miyavi, Yoshiki, Sugizo, Gackt, and although they seem to fly under the radar of most j-rock fans I really like Buck-Tick (must be the David Bowie influence) If you have not seen and heard Miyavi, it is an experience not to be missed. He is amazing. But still More amazing is X Japan... The more I hear of them the more I think they may be the best band I have ever heard. I was very sad to learn that the guitarist hide had died reportedly from suicide. This is old news to many But it still made me cry to think that one so young and talented could be so without hope.I was somehow relieved to learn later that his close friends believed his death to be an accident and not suicide. He seemed like such a happy soul that I am inclined to believe that. X Japan broke up about 10 years ago,a year or so before hide's death. According to Toshi the lead singer, there were issues that he needed to deal with and irreconcilable differences. Apparently Yoshiki and hide had been discussing reviving the band just days before hide was found dead.Well... they have finally done it! First the remaining band members including Toshi who seems to have exorcised his demons collaborated in recording the Song I.V. which was featured in the end credits of the movie Saw IV. Next they did a three day sold out concert at Tokyo Dome March 28th, 29th, and 30th...and now they have announced that they are going to be doing a tour which will include Madison Square Gardens on Sept 13th!!!! This is so cool... I have never wanted to see a Band perform live as much as I want to see this band. I really hope it works out that I can go.
Alas... The concert did not happen. Apparently Yoshiki had a flare up of an old injury which caused the band to cancel plans for concerts for a while. *sobs quietly in corner* ... Well... where there is life there is hope, so I will continue to pray for Yoshiki's recovery and a Concert on the east coast of the US.
Movies
Ok I will admit that I am a lightweight when it comes to movies.
I cannot watch a horror movie. There has been enough REAL horror in my life. When I watch a movie I want to be entertained, perhaps swept away, you can even make me cry. Just leave out the psycho killer/boogie man.
Television
Not much of a TV watcher... It is a brain sucking, time sucking device. I don't have enough time to waste on regular program viewing. I will watch once in a while or if something catches my eye as I walk through the room, but seldom will I sit and watch a whole show from start to finish.
Books
All the Harry Potter Books, The Hobbitt, Lord of the Rings, When God Was a Woman, Outrageous Acts and Everyday Rebellions, Holy Blood, Holy Grail. Hot Zone, And, lately, Freakonomics.... many more...
Heroes
My Grandmother Ezelle . My Aunt Mary. Both strong female role models for which I am eternally grateful.
Barbara, my best friend. Carolyn, also a BEST. Both of whom know where the bodies are buried. They have been through more than their share of hell here on earth. I admire your strength and courage. (they will hate that I said that).
Jane Goodall, Dr. Rachel Carson, Albert Einstein, Marie Curie, Gloria Steinem, Mother Teresa, Princess Di, Winston Churchill, Jewel. My Dad for being better than any man I know, and much better than he had to be.
My Sister Debbie for nothing more than sheer tenacity and guts.
About me: 48yr old female. Looking for friends. I realize that I am as likely to form new friendships as I am to be abducted by terrorists... But, Hey! It could happen...
I love, in order of importance, (watch close!); My two beautiful daughters, I have not posted their current pics as they are precious to me and the internet is a dangerous place. My dad, my husband, my friends (those who have survived and those who have passed away), My cats, My beads, My guitars.
I make jewelry, paint and draw, play guitar badly, sing better.
I started running in February and, while I won't swear that I love it, I do love what it is doing for me. (and it feels so good when it stops!)There WILL Be a BLOG.
I love silliness like playing charades, trivial pursuit, with or without the kids.
I like to laugh.
I love music, have to have it in my life. I have recently been introduced to Japanese rock or J-rock by my daughter... Pretty cool stuff. I am already a fan. (Is this a midlife crisis?)
I live in fear of becoming one of those pathetic people who try too hard to appear young. But I want to have fun before I need a walker and a guide dog. So I am not going to overanalyze myself. Life is too short!
You should create your own MySpace Layouts like me by using nUCLEArcENTURy.COM's MySpace Profile Editor!
I can hear the conversation now...' Yoshiki, we need to hire a drummer for the band'... 'No, I can play the drums'...' Ok then, I guess we need to hire a pianist'... 'No I can play the piano'... 'But Yoshiki, we have some songs that include both at the same time'....'What? you think I can't be in two places at the same time? I AM YOSHIKI'
Who I'd like to meet: Are we speaking in the realm of the possible or just a general WISH scenario?
I would like to meet Ellen DeGeneres. Yeah, I know, how wierd is that? But I think she is a very cool person. Would like to add her to the list of people I call friends. Also on the wish list of folks I'd like to meet? Brett Butler. Have a feeling we have a lot in common... My Sister used to say that Brett Butler's character on Grace Under Fire reminded her of me...
But seriously: I am looking for friends... my husband would like them all to be women... LOL I want to meet people with similar interests. for, chat, outings, friendship.... And I would really like to meet this guy... How can you not love such a sweetheart?
