| General | « 4 mm » est un concept. Un concept
minimaliste. C’est aussi une revendication, une revendication
post-féministe, post-phallique, post-oedipienne. « 4 mm » c’est revendiquer le fait d’être exceptionnel. D’être petit, minoritaire. D’être unique, polyvoque, riche. « 4 mm » sont tous ces mm qui nous rendent exceptionnel, particulier, personnel, spécial. « 4 mm » est ne pas vouloir être pre-formaté, normatif, « tous
pareil ». « 4 mm » est un devenir, un devenir exceptionnel, un devenir son propre désir. « 4 mm » est une machine désirante.
| | Movies | The performance « Heart 4mm » took place for the first time in Gender Bender Festival, in Bologna. I invited people to listen to my heart pulse, one by one, and in front of the audience. In return, I asked them to give me a word related to the experiment they just had and to the words already written on the wall.
They could feel my heart from three different spots: my wrist , my neck and my heart through my jumper (they had to put their hands under it). After this, they gave me their word which I wrote on the wall, and together we looked where to place it in the machine.
Once again, the purpose was to transpose a love mechanism into an art one, going progressively from a public part of the body to a more private one: A new “desiring” machine…
This performance had a powerful effect on the audience involved, exploring fragile boundaries between public and private, inside and outside, domination and submission…
Above all I was looking to put the audience in front of its limits (as putting hands close somebody’s breast) in front of other people.
Protagonists were encouraged to cross over this taboo and therefore to « listen » to the body from deep inside, guts and soul.

| | Books | The exhibition was based on the BI concept. It was located in two different places.
For this event I did the performance “Body 4mm”, twice with two people at the same time.
The pictures of this performance where shown at the same place where I did the performance “Heart 4mm” for the second time, which was a minimalist environment.
I furnished the second location with a big drawing displayed on the wall. This drawing was made on a bed sheet, and was vibrating just like the heart (thanks to a small mechanism behind the bed sheet).
Actress Regina Röhrer recorded people’s experiences just after they participated to the performance. People gave her words or stories related to their meeting with my heart. Every experience was different and very special.
On the last day of the exhibition, I played an audio file where I give my impressions on the performance, together with the stories and words that people had told Regina Röhrer or myself.
This was taking place in front of the big drawing, which represents someone with an instrument of pleasure/pain that illustrates the impossibility to speak.
At the same time, pictures were sliding on a computer, showing the performance I did the first day of the exhibition.

Je cherche une identité au degré maximal d’existence. « 4mm » identité altérée. Un état métastable. Une clameur suspendue entre la vie et la mort. Un état d’intensité zéro.
