Musik weint in Moll und strahlt in Dur hinaus in die Lüfte.
Sie rührt mich die Geige - Ihre Form - Schönheit.
Ihr Körper ist erstarrte Musik. Papier ist geduldig.
Mein Name ist MARIA MARACHOWSKA
Ich bin am MONTAG geboren, wie auch meine ganze Familie.
Der ich die Liebe zur Musik verdanke.
MUSIK war und spielt in meinem Leben eine große Rolle.
Das Schicksal brachte mich im Jahr 2000 nach Deutschland.
Sprachlos, einsam, als Fremde.
Diese Gefühle machten in mir eine andere Tür auf.
Ich sah ein leeres Blatt Papier – und das Papier und ich wurden Freunde.

Ich begann mit dem Malen, weil ich allein war,
aber inzwischen male ich, weil ich süchtig bin.
Seit neun Jahren male ich - sehr intuitiv und intensiv –
immer auf der Suche nach der perfekten Phantasie - Form.

It's dark. Music is crying in minor and radiating in major towards the air. The violin moves me – her shape – beauty.
Her body is frozen music. Paper is patient. My name is MARIA MARACHOWSKA.
I was born on a MONDAY like the rest of my family. Whom I owe the love for music. MUSIC has played and still plays a big part in my life.
In 2000, destiny has brought me to Germany. Speechless, lonely, as a stranger. These feelings have opened another door for me.

I started to paint, since I felt lonely. But in the meantime, I paint, because I'm addicted.
I've been painting for nine years - very intuitively and intensely – always in search of the perfect phantasy form.

About MARIA MARACHOWSKA aka MARIA KATHARSIS (official)
Maria Marachowska, die Tochter eines russischen Oberst und einer Philologin für russische Literatur, verbrachte ihre frühe Kindheit in Estergom/ Ungarn und übersiedelte 1986 mit ihrer Familie in die historische Metropole Kaliningrad/Königsberg, wo sie von 1989 bis 1993 die E.T.A. Hoffmann Musikschule für hochbegabte Kinder besuchte/Instrument: Piano. Für ihr Kunststudium kehrte sie 1998 für 2 Jahre in ihre Geburtsstadt Omsk/ Sibirien zurück. Seit 2000 lebt sie in Deutschland. Nach zahlreichen Ausstellungen als Malerin (in Berlin, Jena, Saalfeld), entdeckte sie in Berlin, wo sie seit 2004 lebt, die Musik für sich. „Sprachlos, einsam, als Fremde“, wie sie selbst sagt, fand sie ihre Ausdrucksform im „Sibirischen Blues“. Das musische Talent reicht in ihrer Familie bereits mehrere Generationen zurück: unter ihren Vorfahren befinden sich eine Opernsängerin und ein professioneller Akkordeonist, von klein auf wurde ihre musikalische Begabung im familiären Umfeld angeregt und gefördert. An etablierten Orten wie dem legendären „Kaffee Burger“ und dem „SO36“ eroberte sie das Szenepublikum. Zusätzlich machte sie sich mit ihrer „Katharsis-Reihe“ im „Kaffee Burger“ von 2007 bis 2009 auch einen Namen als Veranstalterin. Im Jahr 2009 nahm sie im Zuge ihrer Veranstaltungsreihe den Namen Maria Katharsis an. In ihrer Programmreihe traten namhafte Künstler wie etwa der Münchner Kabarettist Helmut Ruge und der Gitarren Virtuose aus Berlin Vincent de Quiram auf.
Maria Marachowska, the daughter of a Russian colonel and a philogist for Russian literature, spent her early childhood in Estergom/ Hungary and in 1986 she moved with her family to the historic metropolis Kaliningrad/Königsberg, where she attended the E.T.A. Hoffmann music school for highly gifted children/instrument: piano. In 1998, she returned to her native city Omsk/ Siberia for a period of 2 years to complete her studies of fine arts. Since 2000 she has been living in Germany. After numerous exhibitions as a painter (in Berlin, Jena, Saalfeld), she has discovered music for herself in Berlin where she has been living since 2004. „Speechless, lonely, as a stranger“, as she says, she has found her way of expression through „Siberian Blues“. The artistic talent dates back for several family generations: among her predecestors are an opera singer and a professional accordeonist, from a young age her musical skills were inspired and supported within a familial setting. In well-established locations like the legendary „Kaffee Burger“ and the „SO36“ in Berlin she has captured the art audience. In addition, she has made her mark as a host for her „Cartharsis“ event series at „Kaffee Burger“ from 2007 to 2009. In 2009 she assumed the name Maria Katharsis in relation to her „Catharsis“ series. Famous artists, among others cabaret artist Helmut Ruge from Munich and Berlin guitar virtuoso Vincent de Quiram performed in the framework of her event series.
