ENGLISH:
MARAS in general is a black metal band from Gevgelija - Macedonia. They are formed in 2003 and until now have five official releases:
2003 - Orlova planina (demo);
2004 - Harvest of the Firefern (ambient);
2006 - Hellfire's Trinity (split with Vinterthrone and Tremula);
2007 - Through the Lands of Ancient Makedon (split with Xerion);
2008 - Raskol (full-length).
Their music is a fusion between the raw sounds of black metal mixed with Macedonian authentic folk elements and many other kinds of music.
With their ideology based on Slavic paganism, the mystery of life and death and epic historical themes, Maras is the first band of that kind in Macedonia. They have played with well known bands like: Ancient Rites, Besatt, Inferno, Adultery (R.I.P)..., spreading their idea for a type of "cosmopolitan" unity of all heathen world, anti-nationalism, and eternal war against the christianization of the pagans in Europa.
In December, 2008, after five years of existence, MARAS released their debut album "Raskol" - a declaration for split between the blindness of christianity and the powerful paganism.

МАРАС, главно е блек метал бенд од Гевгелија – Македонија. Формирани се во 2003 година и до сега имаат пет официјални изданија: 2003 - Орлова планина (демо); 2004 - Harvest of the Firefern (амбиентален албум); 2006 - Hellfire's Trinity (сплит со Vinterthrone и Tremula); 2007 - Through the Lands of Ancient Makedon (сплит со Xerion); 2008 - Раскол (деби-албум). Нивната музика е фузија помеѓу суровите звуци на црниот метал измешани со македонските автентични фолк елементи и многу други музички жанрови. Со нивната идеологија која се базира на славјанското паганство, мистеријата на животот и смртта и епски и историски теми, Марас е прв (и засега единствен) бенд од тој вид во Македонија. Во нивните настапи се вбројуваат и неколку концерти заедно со светски познати актови како: Ancient Rites, Besatt, Inferno, Adultery (R.I.P.)…, ширејќи ја нивната идеја за еден вид „космополитска“ обединетост на целиот поган свет, анти-национализам и вечна војна против христијанизацијата на паганите во Европа.
Во декември, 2008-ма, после пет години постоење, Марас го издадоа својот деби-албум „Раскол“ - декларација раскол помеѓу слепилото на рисјанството и моќното паганство.
