It’s finally summertime in Big Bear Lake! Along with all the great outdoor activities available in Big Bear like hiking, fishing, boating, car rallies, marathons and more; Big Bear Lake is bringing back Sunset Dinner Blues Cruises to add to your summer vacation agendas! B’s Backyard Barbecue and Boathouse has teamed up with Pine Knot Landing’s “The Miss Liberty” and Mad Mad Marcae & his Lost Roll of Pennies Blues Band to bring a series of Blues Cruises to Big Bear Lake this summer.
Mad Mad’s Miss Liberty Blues Cruise is aboard Pine Knot Landing's “The Miss Liberty”, a gorgeous 64' long, 24' 6" high Skipper liner LX completely refurbished in 2006. She features a fully shaded upper deck as well as an enclosed heated main salon with picturesque views of Big Bear’s incredible lake and mountains.
Depart fromPine Knot Marina for a two hour Sunset Dinner cruise featuring music from Mad Mad Marcae and his Lost Roll of Pennies Blues Band. A mixture of blues, funk and soul music will have you dancing the night away as you take in a sunset only Big Bear Lake could provide! B’s Backyard Barbecue will prepare a fine menu from the Islands including fresh Island Fruit Salad, Shrimp Cocktail, Spam Sushi (a Hawaiian tradition), Polynesian Cole Slaw, Hawaiian Chicken, Jamaican Rice, Polynesian Short Ribs and Pineapple Cobbler for dessert.
Passengers will receive a complimentary keepsake photograph of themselves to remember the great time they had in Big Bear with their ticket, and can win other prizes playing games onboard too! Mad Mad Marcae & his Lost Roll of Pennies Blues Band calls their style of music "Mad Blues" - a compilation of true soulful low down and dirty Blues with a tasty urban twist. A mix of covers and originals starts out easy and builds to a climax that packs the dance floor every time they perform.
Mad Mad Marcae sings with conviction. His vocal performance has been described as a combination of an old school soul, rhythm & blues singer along with the confidence and smooth delivery of today's pop artists. He sites some of his influences as Blood Sweat & Tears, B.B. King, James Brown, Tower of Power, Joe Cocker and The Rolling Stones. He is at home singing passionate blues songs as well as romantic ballads with soul.
