Marc ' Da General ' Baptiste
Marc Baptiste was born on 21st June 1979 in London, England. From an early age he discovered that he had a passion for music
At the age of 7 he learnt to play the drums, which were the first steps of his musical journey. He was inspired by drummers such as Dennis Chambers & Omar Hakim.
By the age of thirteen Marc was playing at his local church which gave him the platform to progress onto representing his church at district and national levels.
The year of 2006 opened many doors for Marc. He was blessed to go on tour across Europe with well respected gospel diva's SIANI this included gigs in Holland, Denmark, Sweden, Spain, France and Portugal.
“Da General” was also a part of one of the most respected up and coming bands in the UK (AOS). The band was formed in 2005, this gave Marc the opportunity to develop as a Musical Director. During this time AOS have had the privilege of working with some of the best mainstream artists in the UK today. Marc then went on to start his own movement by the name of Nu Vibez Music & Management in 2008.
As well as working with Siani (Musical Director) and AOS, Marc is currently working alongside Jlovemusic, Supa soul brotha Del, Angelina Bad Angel, Jnay, Lee Henry, The Razzle & The Organic Family.
To date Marc has performed at venues such as Wembley Conference Center (2004), Birmingham NEC (2006), Hackney Empire (2005), and London’s famous Jazz cafe (2005).
As a session musician he has also performed with the likes of Omar, Sharrisa Stuart, Kevin Mark Trail, Siani , Annie Lennox , MOBO award winner 2003 Jnay & UMA winner Lee Henry. Marc has also appeared live on TV performing with Shaggy & Andrew Derbyshire.
