Since Ronnie was a D.C. native and he and his group were known around town they treated us like stars. This time I guessed since nobody was here I could walk up and go in like I was just me, Jennifer, but of course I had my stunner shades on just in case. Not really just in case because I was sure nobody recognized me yet, but I was sure Mariah and Patty would be all decked out in shades coming to a club for mic check. This was my dream so I had better act like one of them, because someday I hoped to be.

“Oh sweetie, I am not going to lie and say I didn’t have my suspicions, but living in Atlanta I have picked up on when guys could possibly be on the other team. Don’t get me wrong it is not because you ’act’ or look gay (whatever that means) but most men who spend this much time with me would be trying to get down my pants and you have yet to make a pass at me.”
I laughed when she said that. “Well, yeah, I guess you are right, because you are one hot sexy lady.”
“Yeah but not hot and sexy enough to turn you straight, am I?” By this point we were both laughing hysterically. I was assured that our friendship would continue on the great path that it was on since we met. Trust me, I wished her last comment was true, because it would be a blessing to have someone like Jennifer to call my girlfriend, fiancé and wife. But I knew being true to who I was as a person and what I needed inside to be fulfilled, no women could ever reach that inner core. I didn’t even know the right man at this point. A part of me wanted to party with Omar and another part of me didn’t want to. I didn’t want any jealous drama on either part to occur. It was good to know that he was in the building. When my song came on or when David was hollering at a cutie I could meet up with Omar and we could do our thing on the dance floor. I loved when we got our freak on with each other while we were dancing. We would grind and kiss on the dance floor to a song and it was like foreplay, a prelude to what would be going down at the end of the night. This was something that I had been waiting weeks for, something that I couldn’t wait to experience again. I guess this was what kept me coming back, and I hoped what kept him coming back was that we had real good chemistry.
