A born performer, Marcella has loved to sing since her first words at age 2. Though her first language was Spanish, her love of the English language shortly followed in school with poetry and prose, winning her first place in a middle-school writing competition from among the entire DC area parochial school system. Since then, she has picked up the guitar and gone on to perform her original songs at talent shows and open mics up and down the East Coast. Marcella is a two-time 1st place winner of Syracuse University’s Talent Competition (1999-2000) and 2nd place winner of Syracuse University’s Annual Campus Cabaret Show in 2000. She has appeared on the popular Syracuse University campus TV show, “After Hours” as the musical guest in 2001, and has also opened for fellow singer/songwriter and New York native Amanda Rogers that same year. Upon graduating from Syracuse University in 2003, Marcella returned home to the DC area, and performed often at Jammin’ Java’s Open Mic Night in Vienna, VA. Spending 2007 and 2008 in New York City, Marcella was spotted at Kenny's Castaways, Pianos, The Bitter End, The Cup, Waltz-Astoria, The G.A.L.A. Festival, and others. 2009 will bring DC, VA, and Philly on board!

It was my hairdo (from an aerosol!) for Halloween... you see, I was a Rock Star!! I even contemplated dying it for real, but I grew tired of looking of pictures of it. Because really, I'm just a good-girl at heart :).
