About me:

I am Marcella Puppini, the dark-haired, accordion-playing, deep-musing, wild dancing founder of the fabulous Puppini Sisters.

My love affair with music started at the age of 5, when I started to play the piano. By the age of 13 I could sing along to the whole of La Boheme and dreamed of becoming the next Maria Callas - or the next Giacomo Puccini.

I never did become the world's best soprano, but these days I do moonlight as an orchestral composer - which gives me more joy than I can express.

My musical career (which for a few years ran alongside my Fashion career) has been varied and interesting: from the cover bands and madrigal choirs of my adolescence I moved on to an all-girl Punk band called Dead Sex Kitten; later on I had a Dance hit called Revolution with DJ Rich B of Gaydar fame, and at the same time I made a name as a saucy Alternative Cabaret singer.

I have worked as Musical Director on several Theatre productions, and for the last couple of years I have also been running a small all-girl orchestra called The Forget-Me-Nots - my little pride and joy.

My next dream is to write an opera and a musical.

I love sci-fi books and classic novels, comic books (NOT the Marvel ones) and horror stories.

I love dancing, especially when there's enough room to really let rip.

I am quite serious and if left alone too long I can get quite morbid, but I also have very camp taste and a silly sense of humour.

I have a passion for languages which started when learned Latin and Ancient Greek at school, and through touring I am beginning to speak pretty decent French. I am also learning the Cyrillic alphabet, although I can't speak any Russian yet.

I love cooking and there is nothing I won't eat. I have a particular fondness for offal and raw meat of any kind. I like to think I have the same eating habits as a tiger, but I'm probably just a disgustinglittle cannibal.

My idols are Bette Davis and Joan Crawford, and ever since childhood my sister and I have been trying to determine who will be whom in our own real life version of Whatever Happened to Baby Jane. It's a tough one...

I have a tendency towards melodrama, but I can just as easily fall prey to suffocating laughing fits.

I can sometimes be quite dictatorial.

I earned the nickname of Danger Girl while driving around the streets of London on my Vespa, and later in my beloved car - Colette.

I am really grateful and proud of all the things I've done since leaving a comfortable life in Italy for an uncomfortable and challenging one in London: I've managed to get two degrees (in Fashion and Music) I have sung and played all over the world, I have taught choir singing at a London University, I have worked with Vivienne Westwood and the inspiring people that she surrounds herself with, I have served tequilas from holster-held bottles in every bar and club in Soho, I have been an artist's model for very camp photographer friends, I have squatted in Park Lane, I have waited tables, and I also had a brief stint as a VJ for the now defunct MTV-style channel Videomusic as a London correspondent. ..   I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V4.4 (www.strikefile.com/myspace)

I have been up that bloody driveway sweeping up the snow. Then made tea for your mother. Antonello has shaved his moustache off. Your Dad told me to do it...the snow, not Antonello'smoustache. Flavia might slip on the ice. Hurry up and bring me some glamour to No 50!

Hi Marcella, got the Dylan Dog bug now. I popped down to the cantina and picked up a few copies (as I asked your permission, which was duly granted). What I like is the way they draw the shoes on men. They are all chisel-toed like Patrick Cox used to make in the 90s, the groovy "Wannabes". I know it sounds mad and that you genuinely subscribe to the fact that I am a little disturbed.... (S mentioned this to me earlier by the way, more of that when you land!) but I feel that I am really becoming obsessed by DD. Bring it on!
