Marcella is a multi-talented vocalist and artist whose evocative style winds through her singing and her painting. She sang jazz and blues for years in San Francisco, Portland, Lake Tahoe, Santa Fe and now resides in Southern Oregon. For the last three years she has been working with Jim Quinby, an accomplished piano man and vocalist. This has been an extremely creative musical partnership. She also worked with saxophonist Kent Heyward in the Living on Dreams Band, expanding her repertoire to include an eclectic mix of contemporary jazz, vocalese, funk and fusion dance tunes. She crafts hauntingly beautiful vocal renditions of popular jazz, blues and contemporary standards.
Most recently, she and Jim Q. have started their new band, "SMOKY RED" with Mike Fitch on drums, Jeff Addicott on bass and vocals and Steve Elmer on guitar and vocals. They play an intriguing mix of blues, jazz, funk, reggae and more.

Surrender is not a question of being low and stupid, nor of wanting to be elevated and profound. It has nothing to do with levels and evaluation. Instead we surrender because we would like to communicate with the world "as it is."- Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche in Cutting Through Spiritual Materialism

About this page:
I have been very active in Domestic Violence causes all of my adult life. I noticed a need in the world pertaining to Same Sex Domestic Violence. It happens more than people know. Unfortunately there are a number of gay people who barely consider themselves worthy or valued as a gay person much less a Domestic Violence Victim. There are also very limited resources, statistics, or information, for Same Sex Domestic Violence. Hopefully through empowerment and education we can change some of this. :D
Marcella, You were awesome at Alex's last night! Your voice is smokey and misty and then cuts through like a razor. The new band is a winner! Thanks for sharing your talent, Esther :)
Marcella, I LOVE the new Brisco pics! I'm so sorry I wasn't able to get to the Avalon to hear you and Jim. Sometime very soon! Your voice is pure heaven. Esther :)
