About Marcelo Moreira-ALMAH and BURNING IN HELL-drummer
Marcelo Moreira began studying drums
by the age of 9 and has gained a lot of recognition in his native
Brazil, as well as overseas due mainly to his creativity and fast
double bass.
He's played beside Aquiles Priester (ANGRA), Ricardo Confessori (SHAAMAN),
Andreas Kisser (SEPULTURA), Kiko Loireuro (Angra), Edu Falaschi (Angra),
Edu Ardanuy (Dr. Sin) e Mauricio Leite (well know Brazilian drummer)
in over 180 clinics.
Marcelo Moreira, 28 anos, começou
a estudar bateria aos 9 após ver um solo do baterista Neil
Peart (RUSH). Marcelo vem se destacando no cenário nacional e internacional
por sua criatividade e velocidade nos dois bumbos.
Esteve ao lado de Aquiles Priester (ANGRA), Ricardo Confessori (SHAAMAN),
Andreas Kisser (SEPULTURA), Kiko Loireuro (Angra), Edu Falaschi (Angra),
Edu Ardanuy (Dr. Sin) e Mauricio Leite (baterista solo) em mais de
180 workshops.
His band BURNING IN HELL has played with
Brazilian acts such as ANGRA, SHAAMAN, DR.SIN, KRISIUN besides some
European ones, such as HAMMERFALL (SWEDISH), SONATA ARCTICA (FINLAND),
AFTER FOREVER (NETHERLANDS), among others.
The new Burning In Hell record, entitled Believe, left its mark on
Heavy Metal history, when it was voted among the 30 best power metal
albuns of all times by the staff of BURRN! Magazine (The biggest Japanese
rock magazine). Other bands on the list include: ANGRA, HELLOWEEN,
EDGUY, GAMMA RAY, STRATOVARIUS, BLIND GUARDIAN, RHAPSODY among others.

Discovered by nobody less
than ULI KUSCH, former HELLOWEEN and MASTERPLAN drummer, Marcelo finally
had his chance to show to the world his drumming skills. Indicated
by ULI to join the Dutch band EPICA, Marcelo was one of only three
drummers, from the entire world, chosen to do the test in 2007. After
a good presentation Marcelo was confident about his performance and
despite the level of the competitors it seemed like he was going to
be the one. Unfortunately the hired drummer Ariën Van Weesenbeek (God
Dethroned) decided to accept the proposal made to him, before Epica
started to look for a drummer, and kept his position.

do mundo todo, selecionados para entrar na banda holandesa EPICA.
Marcelo foi descoberto pelo grande baterista ULI KUSCH (ex-HELLOWEEN
e MASTERPLAN). O baterista gostou tanto dos vídeos e músicas de Marcelo
que indicou ao Epica. Infelizmente o baterista contratado do Epica,
Ariën (God Dethroned), resolveu aceitar a proposta que havia lhe sido
feita antes do teste de Marcelo, e decidiu ficar definitivamente no
Epica.
In 2008 Edu Falaschi (Angra) invited
Marcelo to join his band Almah. The group is currently working on
new material for a second release due in 2008 and with a big world
tour in support of the new album. Along with Edu and Marcelo tree
other amazing talents completes the line up – Felipe Andreoli (Bass,
Angra), Paulo Schroeber (Guitar) end Marcelo Barbosa (Guitar, Khallice).

Em 2008, Edu Falaschi (Angra) convidou
Marcelo para ser o baterista do Almah. A banda atualmente está
trabalhando um novo material para o segundo álbum que será
lançado em 2008 seguido de uma grande tour mundial. Junto com
Edu e Marcelo, 3 excelentes músicos completam o time – Felipe
Andreoli (Baixo, Angra), Paulo Schroeber (Guitarra) e Marcelo Barbosa
(Guitarra, Khallice). O primeiro álbum do Almah foi gravado
por músicos das bandas Nightwish, Stratovarius e Kamelot e
era um projeto solo de Edu, agora se tornou uma banda. Em breve mais
informações.
Currently Marcelo travels all over Brazil playing
gigs, clinics and masterclass, besides working as a drum teacher
in his hometown.
Atualmente Marcelo viaja por todo o país
realizando shows, workshops e masterclass além de dar aulas
em sua cidade
