I work mostly as a solo these days but John Flancher on bass and Gil Barbee on drums & percussion have played many gigs with me as The Marcia Guderian Trio as well as performing on my CDs.

I like to work with other musicians and it'd be fun to sing with a band again. I've played and sang in most every kind of gig: solo, duos, trios, rock, rhythm & blues, I was even lead singer for a couple years in the Blue Notes, a big-band swing band, doing torch songs and swing tunes. For a couple of years before that I toured the West coast in my old "hippie" schoolbus. I haven't driven it around for quite awhile but I still have my bus!
Besides my original tunes I have a huge song list of covers and can put together a strong set for just about any occasion or venue. I was trained in music and have a trained ear, so I like singing harmony too if you need a solid backup singer. I've emcee'd a lot of open mikes and songwriter showcases and I'm thinking about doing another open mike in the Bellingham (WA) area. Mainly I just love singing and making music.

I've done a lot of sing-along jobs, they're actually a lot of fun especially when kids participate. (Photo by Frank C. Murdzia)

Joni Mitchell, Billie Holiday, Linda Ronstadt, Lena Horne, Bessie Smith, I'll think of more later.
San Francisco artist Anna L. Conti (www.bigcrow.com) used one of my songs in this slideshow video of some of her paintings. It's called "San Francisco":

Lots of variety is characteristic of Marcia's original music. Her first album "No Parking Any Time" features 15 of her original songs. Her second CD, "Full Moon" features another 16 originals and her latest CD, "Mansion On Mars" contains 17 more songs in 16 cuts.

Look to this day, for it is life, the very life of life. In its brief course lie all the realities and verities of existence. The bliss of growth, the splendor of action, the glory of power. And yesterday is but a dream, and tomorrow is only a vision. But today - well lived - makes every yesterday a dream of happiness, and every tomorrow a vision of hope. Look well, therefore, to this day.
