Sounds Like
Compared to Tori Amos, Fiona Apple, Sarah McLachlin, been called "the millenium Carole King" by an incredibly smart reviewer;-)...still think I just sound like little ol' me!
Ok, so if you want to read the last "official" one, it’s on my website at: www.marcigeller.com/bio.htm Unofficially, I decided to stream my consciousness and see what comes out. I’ve had some career moments that either impress people or evoke a weird snotty response. How can I best describe it? Hummmm, well an example that comes to mind when I called a fellow singer/songwriter to tell her that I was going to be on TV and the first thing she said (with disdain) was "How’d you get that gig?" Needless to say, I never called her again.
I was supposed to FINALLY get a big record deal about 2 years ago from a company that shall at the moment will remain nameless. Long story short, my key man at the label who was also the head of A&R was "let go do to restructuring" and there I was, barreling into a dark sad place convinced I was "done" with the music biz....again.
Here I am 2 years later. I survived. Winter still kicks me in the butt a bit, but as long as spring keeps coming, I should be ok. I tour all over the country. Most times it’s amazing, sometime it’s lonely and rainy and I wonder what the heck I’m doing and how I escaped "normal" life.
My friends said I have to mention some "show-off stuff" so in nut shell, I have some soundtrack placements:Room Raiders: MTV, Ready for the Weekend Movie: USA Network
Soapography: Soap Network, Driven: Jessica Simpson (VH1), Dweezil & Lisa (Food Network), Knock First (ABC Family), Biography: Christina Onassis (A&E)...oh yeah, and my 2 minutes of "fame"...if you were wondering what TV show I was on that illicited the weird reaction from the aforementioned singer, it was Live! with Regis (STOP LAUGHING, I never claimed to be cool;-).
So that’s it for now. If I think of something else worthwhile, I’ll be sure to write:-) If you’re reading this, well all I can say is thanks and I hope it provides some....I don’t know-honesty? If you have any comments, I’m all ears!
XO,
MG
P.S.-If you’re interested, I have some merchandise available here: Marci Geller Merch!
P.P.S-Here are my MySpace rules for my page: Unless I know you or of you, I don’t ever go out looking for friends and send random invites. The rare exception is if I hear another artist that I really like on a friends page, then I’ll send an invite. I just decided when I joined that i wanted to build a network of "true" friends and listeners and not be like the labels and randomly invite anyone who probably doesn’t care much about me or my music. Also, I generally as a rule will not approve comments that are adverts. I try to always check out a page before adding anyone, and if I leave a comment, it’s about them-not me. I just would like the same treatment reciprocated:-) Trying to keep it real! LOL!!!
If you don’t mind, I’d love it if you signed up for my mailing list here:

Nice to hear from you :-) Hope you're doing well. I didn't mean Bulgaria with "a few years ago", but Germany in 1999 or 2000. There was was a soccer game in the Nuremberg area (I think the day after Hilpoltstein Show) in 34° Celsius. I thought I will collapse :-) My profile photo is from this day.
