Marcina Urvashi, has been dancing Kathak for 18 years, ISTD in Classical Dance style Kathak.
Marcina trained with Sushma Mehta her 1st teacher and has received training from Akram Khan, Sushmita Ghosh, Saswati Sen, Abhay Shankar Misra, and visiting Gurus from India including:Pandit Birju Maharaj, Sri Mati Kumdini Lakhia, Pratap Pawar, Maulik Shah, Aditi Mangaldas.
Marcina has trained at Morley College,Bhavan Centre London, Kadam UK, and with Akademi.
Marcina Urvashi is a member of Shamaa Dance Company, she has performed in London at Nehru Centre, Paul Robson Theatre, Watermans Art Centre, Bhavan Centre, Trafalgar Square Divali Celebration & other venues across the UK. Major dance drama works include Harmony, from the Ganges to the Nile, Roshni's Dream Connexions & Jal all choreographed by Sushma Mehta.

Marcina works as a solo kathak dancer and also in group.
In 2004 Marcina Urvashi spent four months in India for Satsang, Yoga and also performed Kathak in Rishikesh in North India as well as singing Saraswati vandana in Raga Yaman and tintal Khayal in Raga Desh.
Marcina currently teaches at the Siobhan Davies Studios kathak to beginners.
She is also credited in LOCN Dance foundation which incorporates ballet, jazz, contemporary & choreography.
Marcina studied martial arts Shotokan Karate as a teenager for 3 yearsand some Tae Kwondo, and Shaolin Kungfu for one year.
Marcina has trained with Afrikan Contemporary Dancer Wanjiru Gichigi for one year and performed african dance in South Africa with Umoya led by Eugene Skeef.
As well Marcina has studied Afro Brasilian Dance in Salvador Bahia Brasil and Silvestre technique,
in the UK she has also studied with Brasilian dancer choreographer Mariana Pinho and performed with Estrela do Norte follkloric dance Maracatu & Eri Okan afro samba.
Marcina has also choreographed for Carnival and performed as a soloist and troupes for Nottinghill Carnival, Thames Festival, Lord Mayor Parade, and across the UK.
She has led choreography for Nottinghill Parade and St Patricks day parade in Dublin.
She has collaborated with Carnival designers Beauchamp and Rubio of Mandinga Arts, dancing and choreography.
Marcina is a versatile teacher dancer choreographer and performer,
and currently teaches at the Siobhan Davies Studios kathak to beginners.
