Marco And Asim are a dynamic duo! More pickin' and more grinin'. Blending blues, slide guitar and world sounds to tantalize your
senses...Marco And Asim are definitely an aural treat! Not to be
missed.
- Asim Khan is a self-described "late bloomer" who has been dabbling
in low frequencies for over 25 years. Starting on baritone horn and
euphonium, he now regularly plays trombone with The Saints, a 7-piece
Classic Soul, Motown, R&B band. He has performed with Percy Sledge,
Calypso Rose, Universal Xpression and YOU band. Asim has also been
playing bass guitar for 15 years and is featured on acoustic bass on
the recent release with guitarist Marco Bruschtein (Here Comes The
Day). Truly a passionate player, you can see him on bass in the
dynamic duo of Marco and Asim...So keep your ears to the ground and
you will pick up this fellows low, soulful vibes...
- Marco Bruschtein has been known to emanate swap grooves, lake shores
and other sound-scapes from the guitar. Going on 30 years of
playing, he has applied himself to the craft surprising listeners
wherever he travels. Constantly trying to incorporate new music and
sounds into his songs, it is hard to describe his style as he blends,
blues, slide guitar, open tunings, Indian classical music, African
rhythms and his own unique sounds to create songs. Currently he is
performing solo and in the duo Marco and Asim, who are celebrating
their current release, "Here Comes the Day." His guitar work seems
effortless and well worth the listen...

I have always sat back and played it safe with a family to care for
*this war sucks!!
i might stand up?
i might try and use my name and words to rally the next generation?
challenge the news to spread this call
make this idea grow grow or let it die trying?
to get other kids...Lennon's, Jerry's, MLK Jr. Leary's...etc...
to join me as figureheads
even get them to take the Furthur bus on:
a media filled
multi stop
anti war/love blitz
to...Washington??
with other busses and vehicles following
voices in unison
using the tools of our forefathers
flashing the long lost peace sign
handing out the good old peace buttons
flowers in gun barrels
"All we are saying, is give peace a chance"!
speaking to those whose turn it is
our parents got together
made a difference
have we?
hasn't THIS time come?
- - - - - -
it is easy for you to just say "yes" to this
-reason with me instead??
logistics?
how could i possibly rationalize doing this when I have no time or money?
still...if it is possible to REALLY do something, shouldn't i actually consider it?
"You are either on the bus, or off the bus"...K.K.
what a joy, today, to discover you alive and well! I love the music and am glad to know that you're still playing. you were definitely the one who, through your commitment to playing and skill at such a young age, helped many of us start on our musical journeys. it's funny to have students now who are 15, 16 17, and to think about what that was like when we were kids.
I hope to get over to play in Ann Arbor soon, and we'll have to hang out.
