Having moved from Australia in the early 90’s Marco Del Horno began his life in the music industry as a nightclub promoter at the tender age of 16. Ramming various venues in his home of South London full of eager ravers, the profile of his club nights soon took grew into a Ministry of Sound residency, guest shows on BBC radio 1xtra and weekly shows on Londons leading pirate stations.
Having graduated from University with a degree in Economics and Business he then worked in advertising planning strategies for the worlds biggest brands before becoming the Product Manager at house music’s most internationally respected record label, Defected Records.
Marco defected from Defected Records in 2008 to launch his own label at the tender age of 24. Wanting to have freedom to release and remix records across all of the ever growing genres of dance music, Bullet Train Records has finally allowed him the freedom to work not only work with the biggest artists in the House game, but Dubstep, Funky and beyond. As part of the label, Marco also launched Bullet Train TV which has lead to him interviewing dance music heavyweights like DJ Spen , Karizma, Herve and MA1 in only the few months they have been on air.
2009 has already seen Marco receive DJ support from big hitters like Roger Sanchez, Quentin Harris and airplay from BBC Radio1’s Annie Mac & Pete Tong. His first release on Bullet Train, Samurai, has been reworked by some of the biggest guys in the game including Rusko, Mike Monday, DJ M.A.1, Spiritchaser and Aaron Ross. The second release, the Lose Control EP, has been licensed to several compilations including Stealth Records ‘Release Yourself’ series and the third release ‘Never Gonna Let You Go’ ft Katie Leone is set to be a summer smash!
Gigwise, Marco has been busy with his 2 residencies for Soundplayerz ‘Play the Music’ and Sunday morning afterparty ‘We Continue’, as well as playing on the tours for the leading house compilation brand Stereo Sushi and Ministry of Sound’s Friday night ‘The Gallery’.
With a plethora of remix work and residencies pilling up if you don’t know about the kid by now, you soon will!
