Composer, pianist, journalist, producer and director of the company Atelier Cultural since 1998, Marcos Souza started his career as a musician at the age of 16, when he paid a tribute to his father, Francisco Mário, a great Brazilian musician, at the João Caetanos Theatre, in Rio de Janeiro. In 2009 moved to Amsterdam and composed the soundtrack of the new play of the group Munganga. Also produced a concert by Marcos Sacramento at Bimhuis and Leandro Braga at Roode Bioscoop. Marcos gave a seminar about Brazilian Jazz at Jazzdag and about Bossa Nova at Codarts.
He is doing a new project “Winds of Amsterdam” with the dancer Badeen Pedawi. Marcos played and showed the movie about his family “3 Blood Brothers” at tropentheater and Roode Bioscoop.
Lived in Madrid and worked as a Marketing Coordinator of the online music and video distribute, La Central Digital (2007-2009), the biggest independent content aggregator in Spain. Also in 2007, he produced two concerts of the famous Brazilians pianists, Wagner Tiso and Gilson Peranzzetta, at the Festival of Jazz de Madrid and was curator of Brazilians movies in the same festival.
Produced more than 300 important names of the Brazilian music in his project with Sesc Rio. In 2005, he started to produce a Festival of World Music in Rio de Janeiro with Sesc Rio, the Rio Sesc Internacional, with Brazilian musicians, whom played together with international musicians, such as: Abbdullah Chaddeh, from Syria; Ron Carter, from USA, and Hermeto Pascoal, Brazil; Rão Kyao and Pedro Jóia, from Portugal. In 2006, this project continues with Laura Fygi, from the Netherlands; Toninho Horta, from Brazil, with Rudi Berger, from Austria; and Jacques Morelembaum, from Brazil, with Ernst Reijsiger from the Netherlands.
In 2006, he conceived and produced the film Três Irmãos de Sangue (3 Blood Brothers), directed by Ângela Patrícia Reiniger, from the production NO AR.
In 2006 produced the short movie "In the Flute".
His fifth CD, Marcos Souza, was released in 2004, and was his first solo work and the soundtrack of the film-documentary Evandro Teixeira, Instantâneos da Realidade. In 2005, he released another soundtrack CD, Chapada Diamantina, about the film Brilhante from the Director Conceição Senna. In 2002, he was Artistic Coordinator for the record company Rob Digital, and later for Lua Discos/MCD, both in Rio de Janeiro.

Although it's not an original thought, it also occurred to us that we couldn’t hold a verbal conversation with most of these friends, but we have bridged that gap by expressing our art honestly with each other. We all have been filling the world with our music and art, in the hope that our messages of love and human understanding will have an impact on the world at large.
