MARC DOES NOT PERSONALLY RUN THIS PAGE, SO YOUR MESSAGES TO THIS PROFILE WILL NOT BE SEEN BY HIM!!! IF YOU WISH TO CONTACT HIM, PLEASE EMAIL HIM AT RADIO6 MUSIC OR BY OTHER MEANS THAT YOU MAY HAVE, DEPENDING ON HOW WELL YOU KNOW HIM, IF YOU KNOW HIM! DETAILS OF HOW TO CONTACT HIM ARE GIVEN BELOW! ALSO NO POINT SENDING EVENT INVITATIONS TO THIS PAGE - IF YOU WISH TO TELL MARC ABOUT AN EVENT, USE CONTACT DETAILS AS SHOWN BELOW! THANKS Here's a bit of a biog about Marc;

As is traditional for musicians in Manchester, Marc used to be in The Fall. Marc then formed Marc Riley and The Creepers, whose rare records now sell for literally pounds. In later years, as The Boy Lard, Marc played sidekick to Mark Radcliffe on BBC Radio One FM, where their unique talents were shunted from The Graveyard Shift to the Breakfast Show, and then to a 'safe' spot in the afternoon. On all of these programmes, they played some great non-playlist tunes (and some rubbish ones as well), and indulged in sophisticated banter and hilarious quality items. With Radcliffe and other talented associates, The Shirehorses were formed. They made two highly influential albums, toured with Blur as support, headlined Glastonbury, and then split. Mark and Marc left Radio One when it became apparent that they didn't fit with the station's young image. Apparently, they were pushed, but they had their parachutes ready.

Marc is now presenting some of the best current music and some old favourites on BBC 6Music between 7 and 9pm, from Monday to Thursday. Visit the showpage to see what's on the show, and which artists will be live in session. Go there as well to listen again to anything you might have missed from the last week of shows.

Previously, Marc presented two programmes on BBC 6Music, which he's described as the best job ever. Mint, about record collecting and music memorabilia finished on April 1st 2007, and Brain Surgery, featuring live sessions and an assortment of quality items ended in May 2008.

6Music is available online, on digital television and on DAB radio. Shows are available to listen to online for a week after broadcast. Marc also occasionally enhances club nights by DJing at them. ..
