Inspired by the ability to make his songs come to life, Marcus has dedicated his life towards his dream of a career as an artist.
At a time when music is being treated as a Here today gone today scenario, listening to Marcus’s music is a fresh breath of air with difference. He is geared toward strong songwriting on every song that he writes as if they are each a piece of handcrafted art.
Marcus spent most of his growing up with his father who was an activist and a Vietnam vet that believed in the messages that music can bring to the world. Through his Father Marcus was introduced to some of the greatest Rock and Blues artists he has ever heard even till this day. The music Marcus writes is much about tension and release which was heavily influenced by growing up in a household with a seperated family life. This plays a huge part of what powers his songwriting.
You can hear the stories about relationship issues lust, abandonment, heartache and gaining strength from learning the hard way through Marcus' music because he believes much of life is about the road you walk on, relationships you make and memories you leave behind. Marcus has been recently recognized by Cherry Lane Publishing and was hand picked by Richard Stumpf Vice President of Cherry Lane to possibly write for Kelly Clarkson. Marcus was one of the top eleven finalists choosen from this national publishing contest. Marcus attended and graduated Purchase College Conservatory of Music in order to be around musicians day and night. Marcus has played Nassau Coliseum, the Javits Center, Webster Hall, Borgata Casino and so many more and has been consistanly playing live shows for over 4 years straight.
Other noted musicians Marcus has played with and done work with are Gavin DeGraw, Regina Spektor, Finger 11, Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal and more.
“I love being a frontman on stage and watching everyone sing the words that I actually wrote – there is nothing in the world like it,” says Marcus.
