This are just some of the awesome students I get to work with every week in our student ministry at FBCW. Our Creative Ministry team performed this skit/video in our AM worship service on Sun. Feb. 10, 2008. Thanks Fishman for posting.
About me: I am the husband of the greatest wife on the planet, Kathleen and I have the honor of being raised by the three greatest kids on the planet Sarah, Mary and Paul. They teach me more and more every day and I love them dearly. I also have the great privilege of serving as the Associate Pastor, Min. of Ed/Youth at the First Baptist Church in Walton KY. We came on staff here in May of 2006 and have loved every minute of it. We have some great students here and to see what God is doing in their lives now, only excites me for their future. I have been a Chrisitan for nearly 30 years and I don't have enough room on the whole www to tell how God has blessed me even when I willfully disobey Him. God called me to ministry when I was 17 years old. The day was Sept. 27, 1987 and I was at the Sinking Creek Bapt. Church in London, KY. I thought I had better plans for my life than God did, so I ran. I joined the Air Force, a great honor, and inside of 2 years I had witnessed an earthquake, a typhoon, a flood, a volcano, a violent labor strike, a war, death and destruction and a host of other catostrophic events. I know now that God was showing me just what the world had to offer and I was beginning to understand that I really would rather be obediant to Him and live. I also had strayed very far from my fellowship with God. Details are unnecessary but sufice it to say that I was miserable. Long story short, I met and married Kathleen, we had our first child and returned to church. God was still calling me to His ministry and in July of 1999, 12 years after He first called, I sold my house, quit my job and surrendered fully to the ministry. I wish I could say everything has been great ever since, but even in the tough times, my dad's cancer, my grandfather's suicide, and nearly losing my son the day he was born God has been faithful to provide the strength and the needs my family has had. God is sovereign, He is just, He is good, He is perfect, He is here and He is life. I struggle with my Christian walk and everyday I have to deal with my depravity. But God, I love that phrase (Eph. 2:4), is renewing me day by day. Pray for me as I pray for you and together we will see what God has planned for our lives.
Blessings
