   About marcy levy band
Marcy Levy aka, Marcella Detroit: My biggest claim to fame is singing with Eric Clapton for many years, touring, recording and co-writing one of his biggest hits: "Lay Down Sally", and also, "The Core" on his "Slowhand" lp. I was also in a very successful '90's group called "Shakespear's Sister". I was vocally featured on and cowrote our biggest hit, "Stay" that went to number one for 8 weeks in the UK along with Siobhan Fahey, previously with Bananarama and Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics. Since the split of SS in 1993, I've gone on to do several solo cd's under the name "Marcella Detroit", a name I adopted while in Shakespear's Sister and also appeared on Elton John's "Duets for One" cd, doing the Motown classic, "Ain't Nothin' Like the Real Thing". Check me out @www.marcelladetroit.com. My top 40 UK hit called, "I Believe" from my "Jewel" cd, was recorded by a German artist last year named Joana Zimmer climbing to number 2 in the German national charts. My roots: the blues and soul. I've just finished a blues cd called "The Upside of Bein' Down"... now officially released! buy it at: www.cdbaby.com/marcylevyband. My blues site: www.marcylevyband.com. I'm also working on a more contemporary soul/rock cd which will be born in the near future. Speaking of more contemporary music, check me out in my other incarnation: www.marcelladetroit.com www.myspace.com/marcelladetroit www.myspace.com/marcelladetroitofficial CLICK ON THE ARROW BELOW TO WATCH ME PERFORMING WITH ERIC CLAPTON AT LIVE AID, 1985: PLEASE CLICK ON THE ARROW BELOW TO LISTEN AND WATCH THE NEWEST VERSION OF MY SONG, "O AMERIKA" FROM MY UPCOMING CD....

When it's Lickskillet ... it's always worth the drive:

We might be the only southern rock band with two drummers ... who are father and son ....

Benefit for my Dad on September 27, 2009
Hi Everyone,
My Father Peter Aguayo passed away on Tuesday 9-8-2009.
He was a Steelworker for 30 years. The company he worked for went Bankrupt and they took his Life Insurance and Medical as well.
I am trying to raise enough money to give him a proper burial.
Please find it in your heart to come out to the Benefit, he so deserves it.
There will be 5-6 AWESOME bands.
The bands that are already booked for the show are: The Midnight Rendezvous, StellarDrive & Bazooka Jones.
Special Guests: Charlie Allen Martin (Bob Seger) & Psychild - Robert Noll, Tyuawn Brown (A Michael Jackson Impersonator) and Bruce Race (Charlie Chaplin Impersonator).
Location is:
Scott Lake Banquet Center (Located inside the Waterford Elks)
2100 Scott Lake Road.
Waterford, MI 48328
Admission is $20.00
Benefit will start at 2pm and will end at 10pm, or later.
50/50 Raffle
Door Prizes
Cash Bar & Food
Auction Items
The Benefit will also be filmed by Comcast for my friend Big L's The Music Room TV Show.
This will be a great time and it's for a great cause.
I am also trying to raise awareness to the retiree's that they should not assume that they are taken care of, this is happening to people every day. It has been devestating due to the company's Bankruptcy, my Father hasn't been buried yet.
Hope to see you there.
More info to follow as it becomes available.
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.
Help us Honor our Dad, he was a son, a husband and a wonderful Human Being.
God Bless
Jer & Angel
