I like old stuff from the 1930’s (hero pulps, vintage aviation, pin-up art, movies, radio shows, and style). I like a LOT of other stuff, too. Video games, movies, music, and I like weekends spent with my wife doing absolutely nothing.
Music
Joy Dvision, New Order, John Cale, The Veldt, The Jesus And Mary Chain, Interpol, Boy Kill Boy, Echo & The Bunnymen, Girls Against Boys, Wire, Underworld, Squirrel Nut Zippers, 16 Horsepower, The National, Boy Kill Boy, classical music (favorite composer: Camille St. Saens), big band music, more when I think of them...
Movies
Trainspotting, Sky Captain, Blade Runner, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Scarface, Monty Python’s The Meaning of Life, King Kong (1933), King Kong (2005), V For Vendetta, The Rocketeer, Casino, Citizen Kane, more when I think of them…
Television
The Prisoner, King of the Hill, Lost, Seinfeld, The Simpsons, The X-Files, Family Guy, Highlander (well, someepisodes), Monty Python's Flying Circus, Red Dwarf, Miami Vice (pal!), more when I think of them...
Books
“20,000 Leagues Under The Sea” by Jules Verne, “Neuromancer” by William Gibson, “The Chinatown Death Cloud Peril” by Paul Malmont, “The Best of H.P. Lovecraft” by… uh, H.P. Lovecraft, more when I think of them…
-Favorite pulps: “The Shadow” (favorite story: “Crime Insured”), “Doc Savage” (favorite story: “Meteor Menace”), “The Avenger” (favorite story: toss up between “Justice Inc.” and “The Sky Walker”)
Heroes
My wife, Walter B. Gibson, Lester Dent, my late Uncle Russell, comic artist Mike Kaluta, anyone who gives a damn and makes the world more interesting.
I’m in my 30’s. I’m married to a beautiful wife who loves me whole-heartedly. I’m perpetually broke. I am employed as the contact man for a megalomaniacal corporation. 4 dogs, 2 cats.
All my life I’ve been fascinated with pulp magazines, movie serials, radio shows… all the old-school adventure stuff that inspired comics in the first place. I always wanted to pay tribute to these legendary tales and characters. My goal is to publish my ideas as a series of novels, but maybe one day a comic or webcomic would be nice, also.
I got my ideas together and submitted them to an illustrious group of my online friends for feedback. I keep a journal of the developments at my main writing blog, to present my ideas as well as the feedback from my team, M.A.R.D.L. (or “Miami Aerodrome: Research and Development Laboratories”, which also figure into the stories). Check in with it for more information and further announcements!
The site is the proposed research, discussion, and development hub for an upcoming series of stories featuring new, pulp-style heroes Clifton “Challenger” Storm, The Cipher, and The Black Wing. It is a work in progress. Feel free to comment regarding the developments therein…

Who I'd like to meet: Anyone interested in the two-fisted, whiz-bang, high-adventure pulp action from the 1930's and 40's.
Things are swell up here, Don. I've found that when your world gets smaller, people get closer. Always good to hear from you, friend. Don't be a stranger.
Hey Don, From one writer to another I would be interested in your thoughts on my hacks, something I like to call "First Chapter." Read something and like it? Let me know. Read it and not like it? I want to hear that too. Thanks,
-Brennon-
