For who knows about the beauty of the Catalan Coast, it is obviously one of the most
inspirational places on this planet. If the name of Salvador Dali might ring a bell to you,
Marendadisc was born in the same area than the skilled painter.
Also producing important music and multimedia events in clubs and public venues in France and Spain, this artist collective venture is known overseas mostly for its phonogram releases and music productions. As a side activity, Marendadisc supplies licensed material to a number of established record labels like for instance Pschent/Hotel Costes.
Marendadisc has its own line of products since 2002 - simply named Marendadisc
Recordings - and has mainly released CD compilations, and more recently digital/CD
albums and singles, and also some limited fruity 7’inches.
Its music catalogue consists of contributions from artists already involved in Marendadisc Recordings' sister-labels Enjoy or Lace Recordings, as well as introducing some exclusive bands/performers or on/off projects.
Many genres are considered being part of Marendadisc’s music policy: from nu-jazz,
modern-folk and world-beat to electro-pop and soul-dance, all these songs and tracks are easily compilable and should delight your i pod.
Projects are often created out of collaborations between Catalan and foreign
artists/producers, all spiritually connected with that land of beauty called La Côte Vermeille, also worldwide known for its excellent Banyuls and Collioure wines.
The important project currently on the desk is Nilco’s debut long player. this French singer and song-writer is promised to a lot of attention: Beautiful, captivating and touching lyrics are performed by this very talented young man who also plays nearly all instruments on his recordings. His songs are about everyday life and personal issues, while his music reflects in a most skilful way all his cultural influences, writing outstanding, smart, sweet and catchy melodies with sophisticated arrangements.
To be soon presented on Marendadisc Recordings: Turntable bad boy Raph Dumas and his Theremin will release a mixtape including remixes and edits he has done last year. His fantastic world sounds like sixties soul-pop played with a music box and a drum machine made in Africa. His magic fingers are currently polishing a long player displaying his inspiration.
Let's dive into a new soundscape...
Marendadisc Recordings are worldwide distributed by Idol
