Dallas Cowboys (3-1, not bad), Texas Tech Red Raiders, M-Squad, photography, cooking and baking, running, basketball, volleyball, bourbon, wine, sci-fi/fantasy, my own sense of fashion-forwardness (as exemplified by shopping habit), singing to myself and anyone who is subjugated to listening, trumpet and badass horn arrangements, cats because they self-maintain, playing in the dirt, building stuff, guys with curly hair and personality, roadtrips and travel(even better---TOURING), planning stuff and getting it done
Music
If I was marooned on an island I would be satisfied to have the complete Beatles catalogue on hand (is that too much to ask?), Paul Simon, Talking Heads (more specifically David Byrne!), Fiona Apple, Counting Crows, James Taylor, Cake, Ween, Tom Petty, Wilco, Phish, Grateful Dead, Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, Bill Withers, Donny Hathaway, Jim Cullum's Happy Jazz Band, Van Morrison, Weezer, Steely Dan, Amos Lee, Nickel Creek, Radiohead, Zappa, old big band era and dixieland jazz stuff, The Dresden Dolls, Budos Band, Jethro Tull, Disney soundtracks (what girls belt out when they are drunk on girls' night), and various "old" stuff that I am currently being educated on. Then there are these other two bands that you can find on CDBaby: JABARVY and MUCHOS BACKFLIPS!
Movies
Serenity, Stargate, all the Star Treks, Hi-Fidelity, Tim Burton stuff (esp.w/Johnny Depp), Disney sports movies with heartwarming endings, Love Actually, Amelie, the Royal Tenenbaums and the other Wes Anderson films, movies with great colors and soundtracks as exemplified by the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, all the Christopher Guest masterpieces
Television
Heroes, Firefly, Stargate SG-1, Eureka, Boston Legal, South Park, Futurama, Family Guy, Lost, Arrested Development, Good Eats, Battlestar Galactica, and of course, Star Treks: OS, TNG, and Enterprise
Books
I am a Vonnegut fanatic. I found out when I was onstage that he passed away. I felt like crying in front of all those people. I love anything he's done, including the short stories, but my favorite is Venus on the Half-Shell written by his alter-ego, Kilgore Trout. JRR Tolkien, Tom Robbins, Shel Silverstein, and Stan and Jan Berenstain should be mentioned here too. Just finished a David Sedaris book...LMAO...
Heroes
My late parents for instilling in me all of the strength and humor they possessed, and my sister, Bonnie, who is learning more through experience than most people twice her age
About me: I've been described by a friend as "painfully consistent." I'm not quite sure what that means yet.
Immediate interests (besides musical performance) include football, bourbon, and sci-fi. Any one of those topics will breach the getting-to-know-you-seal. You should also be aware that I am half of an elite horn-playing squadron of Margarets. You can call us M-Squad . That being said, I play trumpet for the two best bands in Texas, Jabarvy and Muchos Backflips! . Vote for my band to get into ACL fest this year: ACL VOTING. If you wanna find me, the most surefire way is to look up the gigs and come on out!
Have I told you that I love you lately? Steph and I were gonna come see you play with Muchos Backflips last Sat., but you were in Lubbock with Jabarvy. I miss you soooooooo mcuh! Must see you soon. Hugs. -Keyz
What's up cute girl? Hope things are well. Just wanted to check in and say howdy from Lubbuttocks. I'm gonna try and see you guys next week here. Take care.
It was great to see you, too! And your kick-ass new twisty hair. You guys all played great. I gotta get out more. I miss all you effers. Let me know when the house is ready for visitors.
