Right across the board - rock ballads, jazz/blues, emotive film themes, all musicals. Musicians / Singers - The Beatles, Mike Oldfield, Eric Clapton, Glenn Miller, Syd Lawrence, Benny Goodman, Billy May, Count Basie, Abba, Frank Sinatra, Shirley Bassey, Astrud Gilberto, Leonard Cohen, Joni Mitchell, Cat Stevens, the list goes on and on.
Movies
My favourite all-time love story is Meet Joe Black. Makes me cry every time! Like comedy and thrillers but most of all love the good old classics especially the musicals and detective stories.
Television
Anything 1960's, 1970's - drama, comedy and again detective stories. Never miss the re-runs of The Avengers. Some quiz shows. Try not to get too hooked on the odd reality show. Sky News, Discovery and Performance Channel.
Books
Mainly fiction, those of the dark, brooding storylines such as Du Maurier but also the light-hearted non-fiction like An Englishman in Paris by Michael Sadler.
Heroes
Children and their families affected by cancer; My family for putting up with my bad cooking.
Hi, I'm an actress and author and live with my family in Dublin. As an only child I spent a lot of time on my own which was not all bad because I had the time and space to become aware of all the sights and sounds around me. When, for instance, I visited down the country on my holidays I would listen for hours to the wonderful sounds of the countryside. I grew up close to a docklands and spent many a time watching the passenger and cargo ships sail up the river and on a winter's night, curled up warm in my bed I'd listen to the haunting sound of the fog horn as it guided the ships home safely.
A few years ago I wrote a book called "Breakingdown, Breakingthrough - My Thorn-Paved Road To Healing Via Altered States and Near Madness" which I published myself. It's a detailed account of my thirty Holotropic BreathworkTM sessions which I underwent over a two and a half year period between 1995-1997 to help me deal with some very painful childhood issues (along with the playful, happy times were some very dark moments). Extremely positive outcome.
Who I'd like to meet: Writers; Publisher willing to publish my book;
Anyone working in the field of Transpersonal Psychology; People who've been on their own personal journey.
