Bio
Margaret Helen King, commonly known as MHK, are a band from Australia's capital, Canberra. They are a standard three piece (bass, drums, guitar), but separate themselves from the masses with catchy melodies and stella vocal arrangements. Each member of the band sings and barely a song passes without a harmony that will melt your soul. Their music is described as alternative indy pop rock, a fairly clumsy description, though notable bands that MHK consider to have influenced them include: Sufjan Stevens, Radiohead and Midlake. If you care to listen, prepare to be moved, because Margaret Helen King won't disappoint. .... .. .... .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .... ...... .... ...... .... ? -

Kayla!
Hey, Margaret Helen King member(s)! You guys rocked at Black Stump 2009, thanks so much for playing there. My other favorite bands for that Stump were all dark metal, a bit of a different sound to yours!

After arriving regrettably mid-set at your last performance there (first time I'd heard you) I immediately went to the Stump Shop and bought all three of your CD's (the few others I sprang for that weekend were you guessed it, dark metal too). Loved them and have played them heaps. This 49 year old headbanger's hoping you'll be performing at Stump this year! where I promise to catch all of every performance. Am also hoping that you get to Melbourne before long to play! Your audiences in Canberra are spoiled, still I guess with the weather and all the bureaucratic jobs they might need you live more than I do.
Keep the great music coming please, it brings joy and bubbles to my rather dark heart
P.S. I've been watching my friends and associates for signs of 'ambiguity' and will be sure to give 'em a serve if they try it on with me, as per the song, thx for the assertiveness tips!
Hey Amanda! great show tonight at ANU, definitely enjoyed your gig the best! yes THE BEST!
