Since 1st of Aprill 2005 Margin of Safety has been diving into improvising and finding music with intuition as well as writing original material. They have recorded three CD's worth of improvisational jams and a couple with more traditional songs, that are made available under Creative Commons license for free through Jamendo.
Imagine: You are an North-African immigrant to Spain or a South-American trying to get into US who has not much more than a few suitcases, his ability to work hard, willing to pay with slavery and to do dirty work - work that no inhabitant of the country you want to go to would even think of considering.
You already travelled a far way and left many good friends behind that you maybe never will see again.
You stumble out of the nearly falling apart bus or the smuggler boat, where you had to pay your income of a half year to that grim looking people with hearts of stone - just to take you aboard.
You are sighing gladly that you survived the travel and now take your first steps in your new home country.
And you are soon aware: You are disrespected, treated badly, your woman is seen as a kind of cheap prostitute, other people's children don't want to play with your children.
You are thinking of your former homecountry with feelings of sentimentality and you know there is no hope: you cannot go back...

My subjective mind defines a good song by whatever syncs up with my nervous system in such ways to produce a meaningful, memorable, and tranquil experience -
That is one of the best ways to define a good song. I would'v propably used a more traditional way to express the same thing: A good song is something that makes me feel. But your way is better, because every time I put on the radio, the music makes me fee sad and angry or numb, because it's 99,9% total crap.
There's a lot of things that makes good music but I have to do a blog entry about this stuff with better time..
How does one define a 'good song'? Most music industries would define a good song by whatever makes them money.
Certain people will define a good song by what is 'Technically Operative Within Musical Theory'....

It's amazing that you pinched that much quality in with a hand held recorder, it's almost unbelievable!
Godot is certainly something, grand material! "Estragon's Boots" was the backbone that led to some motivational writing of mine, it's amazing how inspiration flows from vessel to vessel.
Can you remember who you were before you were born? "Still Waiting" reminds me.
PS~
Augustine's Aardvark Timing is genius! My favorite track on the album.
