Music from the 60's/ 70's singer/songwriter era. The Dead, Dylan, Joni Mitchell, bluegrass traditionals, also Ani Difranco, most jam bands...too many to name!!
How to describe myself? Let's see if that is possible... I would say that I am a
smigin of many qualities. I am… practical, resourceful, opinionated,
empowered, fair & equal, open-minded, generous, stubborn, humorous,
spontaneous, compassionate, kind to a fault and creative. When I am not
playing music or going to school I spend my time sewing, dancing, singing,
writing poetry, fiction & non-fiction, dabbling in photography & film, and
hiking & driving just to get lost, to name a few… Mostly, though I have spent
my life soul searching & just discovering the nature of the world and people
in it. I love observing the world and experiences that influence and don’t
influence me directly. Simplicity to the fullest extent is what I see. To try to
see the world and all it’s complex parts working symbiotically and
seamlessly, has been my life’s work so far. I am a gypsy, traveler, musician,
dreamer & personal philosopher of sorts… There are many things I believe in
and many things to believe in, but what I hold sacred can be summed up in
10 statements… Good Human Beingism 101- Qualities of a “Good Person”-
(MSA08)------ A “Good Person” has… 1. The Courage to enact Peace and to defend it. 2. The Courage to seek Truth and to speak it. 3. The Courage to have Integrity and teach it to others 4. The Courage to have Honor and use it. 5. The Courage to still have Classiness and be proud of it. 6. The Courage to search within oneself and learn from it. 7. The Courage to not be caught up in the “real world” and live in it as well. 8. The Courage to take the time to soul search with yourself and others. 9. The Courage to give of oneself without expectations. 10. The Courage to express your innerself. And now a bit about my musical career… Well I am living in Morgantown, WV. Originally from St. Mary's County, MD. At age 23 I started independently recording my first album, "Out Of The Shadows". I started my music career at the age of four when I started singing. I started writing music at age eleven, then decided to pick up the guitar at age thirteen and haven't put it down since. I have been performing since four, but only within the past six years have I been playing my music at events. Since moving to Morgantown my solo music career has really taken flight. I started out playing one open mic night there and by the end of the night I had booked my first gig in town at The West Virginia Brewing Company in 2004. Since then I have played numerous occasions there. I have also opened up for some of the top local bands, like Thred, as well as the band The Recipe! The past summer of 06 , I became part of The Sunshine Daydream Family Band, which plays all the festivals at the local Sunshine Daydream venue. I am also played Zen Fest in Sept.of 2006 and 2007 at Pegusus Farm in Elkins, WV. 2008 has been a slow year for my solo work since I put it on the back- burner to perform full time with The Sunshine Family Band. With SFB we have performed at 123 Pleasant Street in Morgantow, WV, The TreeHuggers Ball and Jerry Garcia's Birthday Bash at Sunshine Daydreams in Terra Alta, WV where Bobby Lee Rogers from BLR and the Codetalkers got up on stage with us and ripped it up all through our set... truly an amazing experience! The SFB are also signed up to play The Highland Jam in Elkins this year then on to BrewGlass, so I am keeping busy lol. I am also working hard towards eventually getting my PH.D in Clinical Psychology with a minor in English at West Virginia University. I am really dedicated to helping people in any way I can and I find that Psychology is such a positive outlet and self- help tool. Overall I am ready to tell the world what I think. Hoping to make life a little more bearable with good sounds!
**All my recordings that get posted are fairly new so they haven't had a
chance to be recorded properly, so please bare with the quality of the
recordings, I am sorry and thank you for listening!!
**UPDATE** I finally got a piano keyboard, so I will be posting new songs I
write on it. The recordings will still be rough though, seeing as I am still a

I read your poetry this morning. Being a writer of fiction myself I am always interested in reading other people's expressions. You learn much about writing by reading. I just wanted to say that I enjoyed your writing very much. I think you have a special talent. I myself do not write poetry, but I do like to read it. I think your poems are beautiful and visual. You have much to give, so keep at it. Dave
